What the hell is wrong with our country

I sometimes believe I'm in some sort of alternative universe where people who do the "right" things are persecuted while people who participate in evil are actually celebrated.

Take the Boston Marathon bombers.

Common sense would probably tell you that the front of the court house would be populated with people looking to tear apart any d-bag who participated in the bombing.

However, in today's world, common sense need not apply. Instead we get idiots like Lacey Buckley..............

Lacey Buckley, 23, said she traveled from her home in Wenatchee, Wash., to attend the arraignment. Buckley said she has never met Tsarnaev but came because she believes he’s innocent. “I just think so many of his rights were violated. They almost murdered an unarmed kid in a boat,” she said.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you want to guess who this idiot voted for in the last election?

Maybe the bomber and Aaron Hernandez can set up an orgy in their jail cells with all the groupies.

Since this is happening en masse, I expect downward revisions in the future over Obamacare Double Counting.

The Regulists

When people accuse the Obamunists of being socialists, I'm always quick to correct them.

See when you are a socialist, you become responsible for delivering goods and services to the public.

As a result, you get the blame when people can't get their hands on toilet paper or a mammogram or a coal burning electric plant.

What the Obamunists are "regulists". See they regulate the shit out of everything, thus controlling what they want but being able to pass the blame to the companies that deliver the goods and services.

So when you can't get that mammogram, the regulists blame it on some greedy business owner.

It's the best of all worlds.

So when the price of your utilities spike and your bank kicks up the service charges on their accounts, remember this.............. "I told you so".............

Life in "Progress" City - DC edition

A guerrilla gardener planted 1,000 flowers at the ugliest subway stop in the capital. Instead of saying thanks, D.C. Metro authorities ripped the plants out to show him — and the public — who's boss.

This stinks.

Henry Docter's beautiful planted flower gift to the city got more hits than any other story on the Post's website. It's not hard to see why:

As Metro authorities howled about not having enough funds to keep probably the busiest and most visible subway stop in Washington from looking like a Soviet prison yard, a private citizen showed it was possible — without all the bureaucracy, red tape and excuse-making Metro authorities have meted out up until now.

The ugly subway stop was their handiwork. The enchanting red-white-and-blue cardinal flowers, cypress vines and morning glories were the private sector's handiwork.

The bureaucrats could see the ugly contrast.

And more importantly, they knew the public could see it, raising questions about their ultimate worth to the public. So like typical bureaucrats, they struck, the better to sweep from the public's mind that the private sector can do a simple job better than they can.
The turf-war reflex from these bureaucrats in the wake of their own neglect is striking.

Life in "Progress" City - Chicago edition

Sunday morning's Chicago Tribune went to bed a full day before reporters could complete their lengthy computer spreadsheet of Independence Day weekend gun casualties: more than 70 people shot, 11 of them fatally, from Wednesday afternoon through Sunday evening. Two other murders — a stabbing and a beating — pushed the city's homicide toll to 13.

But Sunday's news reports, in print and online, had plentiful horror, even if it was statistically incomplete: A large map depicted the spots where, during the first six months of this year, more than 1,000 people had been shot. The 70-plus shooting victims over the holiday weekend will pack many more dots on the map.

If you missed the special report accompanying the map, "The echo of gunfire," make your way back to Sunday's paper or search online for that phrase. The human stories you'll read — of shock, of loss, of grief, of a hundred other sorrows — will reaffirm how lethal Chicago's violence has become, and not only for those who wind up in body bags.

What's the common denominator?

Geez, you might think that somewhere in this piece, Charles Lane might point out that Detroit hasn't had a republican mayor since the 1950's.........

One can only hope for his success. Certainly the Michigan law under which Gov. Rick Snyder (R) appointed Orr authorizes him to do what is necessary — from ripping up union contracts to blowing the whistle on alleged pension fund malfeasance. German chancellor Angela Merkel could only wish for such quasi-dictatorial power over her Greek clients.

Of course, Detroit should never have reached the point where it needed an enlightened dictator.

Motor City residents, public employees, financiers and politicians should have practiced the shared sacrifice Orr is belatedly attempting to impose.

Yet they are hardly the only ones to fail. In California, the cities of Vallejo, San Bernardino and Stockton have declared municipal bankruptcy, from which only Vallejo has emerged; Harrisburg, Pa., is insolvent. Last month Fitch Ratings warned that it might downgrade $8.7 billion of Chicago debt due to a growing unfunded-pension liability.

Question. How many of these cities are run by republicans?

What amazes me the most, is that liberals like to sport themselves as the party of "science".

Hey Mr./Ms. Liberal. You don't need any anecdotal evidence to know that areas run by liberals suffer by almost any objective standard; school performance, cost of living, unemployment, crime, tax rates.

And now we can add municipal bankruptcies to the mix. Soon to be followed by state pension bankruptcies.

Let's rid ourselves of this immigration nuisance

They come into our country without any documentation.

They are fed and housed without any question.

They use up resources that could be used for other needs in our communities.

They create a public safety nuisance for our children from the trashing of our parks and public areas.

Of course, I'm talking about Canadian Geese.

Seriously, over the weekend, the Gekko's went to a public park near our home to walk on a bike path.

The path was littered with goose shit all over the place.

The adjacent soccer and baseball fields were covered with at least two hundred of these damn things; each and every one of them taking their dumps for our kids to play in.

Just to get a grip on the numbers of these damn things in our communities read this passage from the Michigan DNR...........

In Michigan, the number of giant Canada geese counted each spring increased from about 9,000 in 1970 to over 300,000 today. Giant Canada geese nest in every Michigan county, but are most common (80 percent of population) in the southern third of the state.

Seriously? 9,000 to 300,000 and we still have a prohibition against turning things things into food, or land fill for that matter.

Before you start thinking about how precious things things are, let's get a feel for what that bird crap can deliver to your kid off of a soccer ball.

The most common complaint about geese is the accumulation of droppings and feathers. Each Canada goose can produce 1-2 pounds of droppings each day. This adds up to quite a mess when you have 50 or more geese on site and can be very labor intensive to manage the cleanliness of your location.

With droppings come pollutants. These droppings can be a health risk and can carry Salmonella spp,. E. coli, and Listeria spp. Heavy concentrations of goose droppings can also contain nitrogen which can pollute ponds and lakes, leading to excessive algae growth and reduced water quality.

So that nitrogen in our water probably isn't fertilizer run off after all....... it's goose crap.

I think it's time to start ridding ourselves of these unwanted immigrant to our country.

Screw Canada if they can't control their border.

Liberals don't give a crap about the poor

Back in my fabulously liberal days, one of the things that would get under my skin were the liberals who had the attitude that "I have mine, now we can close the door".

You see it all the time with liberals who migrate into the suburbs all the while sentencing people in urban areas to a life of shitty schools, high crime, poor economic opportunity, etc.

If you ever wanted to witness this attitude on display, look at our liberal in chief's speech to Africans yesterday.

Gun Control 101

So if people have fewer guns, violent crime will go down?

How about this Sandy Hook type even in China...............

Knife-wielding assailants killed nine policemen and 17 civilians in a bloody attack that only ended after 10 attackers were shot dead in western China early Wednesday.

At least three people were also injured during the early morning assault on the Lukqun Township in Xinjiang province, Chinese state media agency Xinhua reported.

If confirmed, it would be one of the bloodiest incidents in Xinjiang since nearly 200 people were killed in the regional capital, Urumqi, in 2009.

The region, which borders Afghanistan and Pakistan, has been the scene of numerous violent incidents in recent years amid tensions between the large population of Muslim Uighurs and the ruling Han ethnic group.

On another note. Has anyone noticed that in nearly every conflict in the world, Muslims are involved?

It doesn't matter if it's Christians, Jews, Buddhists, or Hindus. For that matter, it could be intra-Muslim conflicts between Sunnis and Shiites. The fact is these guys don't play well with the others.

Meet Lindsay Bien-aime. Why is Lindsay in the news?

A woman identified as Lindsay Bien-aime was forcibly removed from a US Airways flight by multiple police officers after she apparently refused to stop talking on her cell phone, and then became extremely unruly.

According to WBTV, the pilot was forced to return the plane to the gate because of Bien-Aime’s antics, and deputies were called around 6:36 a.m. on the flight from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Charlotte, N.C.

Now, eyewitness video has surfaced from the incident, showing the woman greeting the police officers and fellow travelers with repeated use of the phrase “shut the fu** up!”

“I’m not going anywhere! This is bull****,” she can be heard saying, possibly calling one woman who may have been trying to calm her a “botox bi***.”

Reports indicate Bien-aime was traveling with her son. She was also recorded saying: “He knows that I cuss. People cuss in the world. He knows the real world. It’s okay. It’s okay, don’t hide your children from the world. It’s okay. People get arrested, people get arrested, people do sh**. So what’s your problem?”

So in the last presidential election did Lindsay here vote for Obama or Romney?

Where's the compassion?

As I've repeated incessantly on this blog, I'm not a conservative for me. The Gekko's have a great enough lifestyle that we're going to do well regardless of what liberal shitbag gets thrown in front of us. We have the resources to bypass all of it.

I'm a conservative for the least of us. What that means is this. When the Obamunists increase the price of utilities as a result of their environmental policies who gets hurt the most......

1) Warren Buffett?
2) A CPA in Redville, Ohio?
3) A retiree living exclusively on Social Security?
4) Lebron James?
5) An airline pilot?

Last week, while watching The Five, Mrs. Gekko made the comment that something Bob Beckel said was seemingly not so liberal.

I told her that there were two types of liberals, your Teamster working guy types and your Greenpeace types. Beckel is of the Teamster variety.

See, Teamsters would be all about building the Keystone pipeline.........it's all about jobs.......union jobs. Greenpeace? They wouldn't give two dirts about jobs for the least of us.

I just wish someone in the freakin' GOP would lay it out like Ross Douthat does here...........

After all, gun control, immigration reform and climate change aren’t just random targets of opportunity. They’re pillars of Acela Corridor ideology, core elements of Bloombergism, places where Obama-era liberalism overlaps with the views of Davos-goers and the Wall Street 1 percent. If you move in those circles, the political circumstances don’t necessarily matter: these ideas always look like uncontroversial common sense.

Step outside those circles, though, and the timing of their elevation looks at best peculiar, at worst perverse. The president decided to make gun control legislation a major second-term priority ... with firearm homicides at a 30-year low. Congress is pursuing a sharp increase in low-skilled immigration ... when the foreign-born share of the American population is already headed for historical highs. The administration is drawing up major new carbon regulations ... when actual existing global warming has been well below projections for 15 years and counting.

What’s more, on the issues that Americans actually prioritize — jobs, wages, the economy — it’s likely that both immigration reform and whatever the White House decides to do on greenhouse gases will make the short-term picture somewhat worse. The Congressional Budget Office’s recent analysis of the immigration bill errs on the side of optimism, but it still projects that the legislation would leave unemployment “slightly elevated” through 2020, and average wages modestly reduced. Given that similar estimates greeted the Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill in 2009, it’s reasonable to assume that carbon regulations would slightly raise the unemployment rate as well.

These costs might be more acceptable in a world where Washington was also readying, say, payroll tax relief for working-class families, or measures to help the long-term uninsured. But since those ideas currently lack constituencies in the capital, we’re left with the peculiar spectacle of a political class responding to a period of destructive long-term unemployment with an agenda that threatens to help extend that crisis toward 2020 and beyond.

Do you think that all those libs on the Upper West Side give a shit if some poor retirees freeze to death because they couldn't pay their utility bills.

All you have to do is look at what senor Obama has done for his family to answer correctly.

Let's see, when a group of tea partiers threatens his kingdom he's all macho.....hiding behind IRS agents to do his dirty work.

When a reporter threatens the kingdom he's all gung ho behind his AG's illegal wiretaps.

But when this guy is face to face with a real tough guy his spine has all the consistency of Jello. See Vladimir Putin, who, I'm surprised, hasn't told Obama to bow to him and make him say uncle.

But never fear. There's always a group of libs to hide behind when trouble alerts. Remember last year when Sandra Fluke let him hide behind her skirt when he offered her free birth control for life?

Or how about this week when he'll hide behind the skirt of environmentalists by offering them everything they want.......
