What does it say about an administration who allows this "dude" to be in the situation room for anything more than cleaning it?

Why it matters

The typical media response the Benghazi scandal is to yawn and proclaim it as a republican attempt to sabotage Obama.

In reality, it matters. Why? Let's boil off the fat and get to the meat.

It matters because a UNITED STATES AMBASSADOR WAS FUCKING ASSASSINATED!!!!!!!

Frankly, I'm ashamed that the media and democrats have just let Craig Stevens become diplomatic chum for the Obama administration. He was one of their own and they have left his death become the price politics........ like a ream of copy paper.

This has happened only six times in US history. To date, no one has been brought to justice outside of some ding dong in LA who produced a video that had nothing to do with the planned attack on our consulate.

No one has asked the president "When one of your employees was being attacked, where were you, what information was being relayed on the attack, why didn't you even attempt a rescue if for no more reason than to secure the area?"

It's disgusting that only one reporter (Sharyl Attkison) outside of Fox News has even given the time of day to this story.

This story is an indictment of the entire media complex. Do you think they'll attempt to make amends by hitting these guys hard?

minimum wage idiocy

Over the weekend, the Gekko's hit downtown Cincinnati to celebrate my birthday.

Now if you're not familiar with the politics of Cincinnati, PG Sittenfeld, a councilman, is working to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 for businesses within the city.

I thought about that as we walked to the city owned Fountain Square garage and used the automated payment system to pay for our parking.

Do idiots like PG ever wonder what happened to those people who used to get paid to take your money when exiting the garage? I guess they just magically disappeared.

Not exactly. I'm just going to guess that it is a hell of lot cheaper to put a machine in to do the work that you're paying a low skilled worker to do the job. Of course, raising the price on those workers only makes it more likely their jobs will be filled by a machine at some point in time.

When I was a small kid, one of the local grocery stores actually had tags on the grocery carts. When your cart was filled with the groceries, the bagger would hand you the tag. He would take the cart outside and when you pulled up to the curb, he would load the groceries into your car.

What do you think happened to those jobs?

They went the way of pterodactyls and gas station attendants who actually pumped your gas and checked your oil.

It the same economic forces that cause you to not only bag your own groceries but you now get to scan them as well.

So go for it PG and the senate. It's much better to have zero 10.10 jobs than people actually working and getting on to the economic ladder so they can climb their way up.

So let me make sure I have this right.

Those big, fat, awful corporations love profits so much, they're willing to pay workers less than a living wage so they can stuff their big, fat wallets with cash.

If you believe that, then why would there be any job market for men at all if those same big, fat, awful corporations can pay a woman 77% of what they would pay a man to do the same job?

Talk about adding to the bottom line.

Do these people understand supply/demand curves at all?

I've watched that show already

Years ago, while dating my fabulously liberal girlfriend, she turned on one of the Sunday morning news shows and was surprised that I wasn't interested in watching.

"As political as you are, I'm surprised you don't watch all of these."

I replied, "I've already seen them all."

"Uuh?"

"Yeah, this is the show where the moderator has a liberal and a milquetoast conservative answer questions about an issue, and the liberal gives the standard liberal talking point and the milquetoast conservative does the same."

If you never want to learn anything new, keep watching these shows and you'll end up dumber for having done so.

Why I hate our government

Because the government has no problem shitting all over  law abiding citizens.............. without due process.

Some 400,000 Americans may see their tax refund checks grabbed by the government after Congress quietly lifted the 10-year statute of limitations in 2011 on money owed to Uncle Sam.

Now, debts going back decades are considered fair game for the IRS, and the government is coming after the children and grandchildren of the original debtors for the repayment. 

In some cases, debts of parents from the early 1960s and 70s are being collected from children. 

In many cases, the IRS doesn't even possess the original records of the debts.

But lets cheating, piles of shit, scumbags keep doing their thing.............

  An Internet connection and a bunch of stolen identities are all it takes for crooks to collect billions of dollars in bogus federal tax refunds. And the scam is proving too pervasive to stop.

A government report in November said the IRS issued $4 billion in fraudulent tax refunds over the previous year to criminals who were using other people's personal information. Attorney General Eric Holder said this week that the "scale, scope and execution of these fraud schemes" has grown substantially and the Justice Department in the past year has charged 880 people.

Who's involved? In a video message released ahead of the April 15 tax filing deadline, Holder said the scams "are carried out by a variety of actors, from greedy tax return preparers to identity brokers who profit from the sale of personal information to gangs and drug rings looking for easy access to cash."

I keep hearing about how democrats are for the little guys.

Really?

Consider this. When municipal pensions go belly up, who gets hurt the most?

1) Sean Penn
2) a retired fire fighter
3) Warren Buffett
4) a Boeing engineer
5) a disabled vet

Unionize these guys?

So a regional NLRB has given the thumbs up for scholarship Nortwestern footballs players to unionize.

This topic gets under my skin because most people don't have a clue about the money these guys are already paid.

Consider this......

Tuition and fees By NCAA rules a football player is only allowed to practice 20hr.s/wk. If your son or daughter were given the opportunity to "work" 20 hrs/week, and walk out of Northwestern without a student loan, would you dive on it? the tuition at Northwestern is $15,000 a quarter, you do the math.

Room and board How much does a 300 lb. tackle eat? I guarantee you couldn't buy all that food with a part time job.

Free medical care. I ran track on a partial scholarship and I still got my contacts and eye care free because it was tied to my athletic performance. I also received free treatment for mono that had nothing to do with my athletics. Think about all what all that free medical would cost in real life.

Meal Money When a team goes on a road trip, they get meal money. When they go to Bowl games or other tournaments, the hosts usually provide a buffet for the coaches, players and staffs to accommodate their schedules. Often these guys can pocket a couple of hundred dollars on road trip by eating at the buffet.

Free Tutoring Having trouble with that calculus class? Don't worry. The school will give you a tutor free of charge.

Extra Cash Many schools allow at need kids to keep their Pell Grant money and/or other government need based scholarships. I get sick of hearing about how a guy can't take a girl out for a movie when they have a thousand dollars in tattoos on their arms. I have also heard that players get small stipends to cover their laundry and incidentals.

Swag One of the guys I ran track with also played basketball for the University of Cincinnati. He showed me the watch all the guys got from the hosts of a holiday tournament they played in. That didn't even count all the other shit these guys pocket at these games. In addition, the team swag, warm ups, shoes, tickets etc. counts for a boat load of money if you had to buy it out of pocket.

Tax Free Wrap your mind around the total income you would have to earn as a private citizen to cover the costs of all this? AFTER TAXES.

This would take a parent a couple hundred thousand dollars a year, after tax, to cover the tab.

I was telling a friend last night, these guys better be careful what they wish for. This ruling only applies to football scholarship athletes. 

Football already gives AD's Title IX shit fits. Don't be surprised if schools don't just drop football scholarships all together.
