Baseball, beer and hypocrisy

Does anyone else find it ironic that the baseball team that plays in Busch Stadium recently banned alcohol in the clubhouse because of the recent DUI related death of Josh Hancock? What a joke!

Let's face it... alcohol and sports are in bed together and banning beer in a team's locker room is just feel-good, window dressing. Everyone knows that alcohol abuse is a chief cause of many of the ills we deal with in society but it's the cigarette industry that's under attack. Answer this question: Would you rather have your kid grow up addicted to nicotine or alcohol?

But as bad as alcohol abuse is, sport franchises in America advertise with it and use it's popularity to leverage the bottom line. Try watching an NFL game without seeing a Coors commercial. Sport teams: Don't insult our intelligence with crocodile tears and pretend to really care.
