Students at a high school in Boca Raton, Florida, must step over rivers of urine and endure the stench of rancid waste after a plan to bring 'green' waterless urinals into bathrooms backfired.

School officials at Spanish River High School thought they had found an environmentally-friendly, cost-saving solution for their bathrooms when they installed Falcon Waterfree urinals in their boys bathrooms.

But with no water moving through the school's copper pipes to flush the urine into the sewer system, the waste produced noxious gases that ate through the metal, leaving leaky pipes that allowed urine to drip into walls and flow onto floors.

'It was pretty disgusting,' school board chairman Frank Barbieri told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

'The girls had to step over a river of urine. I could smell it as soon as I walked into the hallway.'

It's been fashionable for the past 24 hours to rip Mitt Romney for "not worrying about the poor". But frankly, I'm not worrying a whole lot either.

Why? Let me share this anecdote......

On my way back from a client meeting, I stopped in a local carry out for some gum.

In front of me was a lard ass picking up her Code Red and bag of chips. Now I wouldn't care one iota about someone buying this crap........except that it wasn't her buying it.............. it was me and the rest of our taxpayer's who paid for this skank's nutrition fill.

When I came out of the store she was wedging her ass into a moderately aged minivan while her "old man" was enjoying one of those flavored cigars.

When our poor have enough resources to fund Code Red, chips, flavored cigars, and a minivan, I'm not losing any sleep over their struggles.

Maybe I can take Soledad O'Brien on a welfare field trip.

BTW The woman in question was white so you can tell Rep Moore (see previous post) my anger crosses racial lines.

Another heir to the Getty oil fortune, Anna Getty, has cut permanent ties to the U.S. and may have renounced her citizenship, according to a government report published Thursday.

As the U.S. presidential campaign is rife with debate over issues of tax fairness, the name of the 39-year-old actress, cookbook writer and prominent organic living aficionado has appeared on a new Internal Revenue Service list of U.S. taxpayers who have renounced their citizenship, often for tax reasons.

Getty was described by Forbes magazine in 2007 as one of the world's 20 most intriguing billionaire heiresses, largely for her work on green living. She is the stepdaughter of the late J. Paul Getty III, a scion of the Getty oil clan who led a notably troubled and tragic life. He was kidnapped in 1973, at age 17, and had an ear cut off by his captors. His father, John Paul Getty Jr., paid a $2.2 million ransom to secure his son's release. The son developed a serious drug habit, suffering an overdose and stroke in 1981 that left him paralyzed until his death last year at age 54.

California will run out of cash by early March if the state does not take swift action to find $3.3 billion through payment delays and borrowing, according to a letter state Controller John Chiang sent to state lawmakers today.

The announcement is surprising since lawmakers previously believed the state had enough cash to last through the fiscal year that ends in June.

But Chiang said additional cash management solutions are needed because state tax revenues are $2.6 billion less than what Gov. Jerry Brown and state lawmakers assumed in their optimistic budget last year. Meanwhile, Chiang said, the state is spending $2.6 billion more than state leaders planned on.

The Assembly budget committee approved a bill today that would enable $865 million of borrowing from existing state accounts, Senate Bill 95. Chiang, after consultation with the Department of Finance and state Treasurer Bill Lockyer, is also seeking about $2.4 billion in delayed payments to universities, counties and Medi-Cal, as well as additional borrowing from outside investors.

IN A HORRIFIC assault in Center City on Saturday night, three teenagers who were spouting racial slurs pulled a man out of a cab to beat him. And when the cabdriver intervened to stop the assault, the teens turned their rage on him, police said yesterday.

About 8:25 p.m., a cab was stopped at a red light at 15th and Chestnut streets when two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy approached and started calling the male passenger in the back seat racially derogatory names, police said.

The boys then threw an unknown liquid at the cab before they opened the door, pulled the passenger out and started to pummel him, police said.

When the cabbie got out of the car to see what was going on, the passenger ran away and the teens turned on the cabbie. They punched him in the face, kicked him and threw a liquid on him, police said.

The conservative Republican base understands Newt Gingrich better than the GOP establishment thinks.

They are aware of his intermittent apostasies and occasional adventures with crackpot policy. They know Mitt Romney is the one with executive experience and that Gingrich can’t really run things.

And they don’t want Gingrich to run things. They want him to destroy things.

If you are in Washington and you see a member of the Republican establishment, say, walking down K Street, wrap your arms around them. He or she needs a hug, because probably for the first time ever in a Republican presidential primary the establishment is in danger of being completely ignored.

The Republican establishment believes that the birth and rebirth of candidate Gingrich should have ended in the cradle, that he had no right messing up Romney’s coronation in South Carolina and had better be stopped in Florida.

The establishment knows Gingrich. He’s kind of a friend of the Republican establishment. And Gingrich, the establishment says, you’re no president.

The establishment may be right. But it may not get its way. Win or lose Tuesday in Florida, Gingrich is in the game for real, because the Republican base is giving him a chance.

The grass-roots conservatives, tea partiers, evangelicals and the like who compose the base have had it with the establishment. The base is not only angry at President Barack Obama. The base wants to eat its own.

It was nice, polite Republicans, like Romney, who colluded with Democrats in expanding the federal government and who piled up the $15 trillion debt that now threatens to destroy the country. It was upstanding members of the GOP who added a new Medicare entitlement without paying for it, who created new agencies and wove myriad regulations to govern the lives of regular folk.

The base wants someone who is not polite, who is not conventional, who has the potential to grasp the established order in Washington by its cuff links and rip out its entrails.

We tea partiers are just dying for someone to ride a horse in the GOP head quarters and start lopping off heads.

We don't care if it's Herman Cain, Sarah Palin, Newt, Michelle, etc. etc. as long as we see some blood on K street.

Thanks to City Hall’s generous vacation, sick and leave policies, one in every three city of Cincinnati employees was off the equivalent of more than six normal work weeks last year, an Enquirer analysis has found.

City records show that in 2011, nearly 2,000 city employees were off time comparable to at least six 40-hour weeks, including nearly 370 who took vacation, sick and other leave totaling more than 10 standard work weeks.

Those totals, significantly higher than those in the private sector, stem primarily from the relatively high allotments of annual leave included in city contracts – much of it time off that can be carried over from year to year, often to be cashed in upon retirement. That costs the city millions of dollars annually, as in 2011, when those payments were a major portion of City Hall’s $39.5 million “special pay” tab.

But hey the Just because the benefits are awesome doesn't mean the retirement plan can't be as well.........

16 actual scientists have joined 1973 Nobel-winning physicist Ivar Giaever in calling global warming concerns overblown. In a letter published in the Wall Street Journal today, the scientists called for everyone to remain calm — and mocked the alarmism by UN bureaucrats over global warming and carbon dioxide.

They recommended that the world do nothing about global warming for the next 50 years.

“The fact is that CO2 is not a pollutant,” the scientists wrote in their letter, which the Wall Street Journal headlined: “No Need to Panic About Global Warming. There’s no compelling scientific argument for drastic action to ‘decarbonize’ the world’s economy.”

The letter went on to explain that warming may actually benefit life on Earth: “CO2 is a colorless and odorless gas, exhaled at high concentrations by each of us, and a key component of the biosphere’s life cycle. Plants do so much better with more CO2 that greenhouse operators often increase the CO2 concentrations by factors of three or four to get better growth. This is no surprise since plants and animals evolved when CO2 concentrations were about 10 times larger than they are today. Better plant varieties, chemical fertilizers and agricultural management contributed to the great increase in agricultural yields of the past century, but part of the increase almost certainly came from additional CO2 in the atmosphere.”

The number of jobless people in Spain increased by 295,300 to 5.27 million in the fourth quarter of 2011, surpassing the 5 million mark for the first time in history, the statistics body INE said Friday.

The INE put the unemployment rate at 22.85 per cent, up from 21.5 per cent in October.

About 1.6 million households in Spain now have all their active members out of work.

Unemployment increased most among people aged 25 and 54 years - by 286,000 - in the fourth quarter. However, it went down among people aged less than 25 years.

Spain's unemployment rate is the highest in the European Union and about twice the EU average. Eurostat data put the youth jobless rate at nearly 50 per cent.

Keep rockin' Obama, you'll get us there soon enough.

Edward Davies, Ann Romney's father, was an atheist who was also strongly anti-religion. By the time he died, he was the only member of Ann Romney's immediate family to not convert to Mormonism.

Fourteen months later, in 1993, he was baptized in a special ceremony at a Salt Lake City church. This practice requires a living person who has already been baptized to undergo the immersion in water again on behalf of the dead. No word on who this person might have been in Davies' case.

Let's see, I can choose to approve a shovel ready pipeline that involves lots of jobs and no taxpayer subsidy or I can drop billions into "green" companies that generates no jobs..........

The parent company of an electric car battery maker that received more than $100 million in government funding from the Obama administration has filed for bankruptcy protection, the company announced Thursday.

Alex Sorokin, the CEO for lithium-ion battery manufacturer Ener1, said the company suffered when demand for the batteries dropped as fewer Americans than expected opted for electric cars.

"This was a difficult, but necessary, decision for our company," Sorokin said in a statement on its website. "We moved aggressively to reduce costs and shift focus when the marketplace did not evolve as quickly as anticipated. Our business plan was impacted when demand for lithium-ion batteries slowed due to lower-than-expected adoption for electric passenger vehicles."

EnerDel, a subsidiary of Ener1 dedicated to making batteries for electric cars, was awarded a $118 million grant from the Energy Department in 2009 as part of President Obama's economic stimulus package and green energy push. Ener1 said that the bankruptcy filing and newly announced company restructuring would allow its subsidiaries, including EnerDel, to "continue normal operation."

Would I go to the White House?

In light of the Tim Thomas boycott of the White House celebration of the Bruins Stanley Cup, reader Tim asked me if I would go to the White House with my team during my track and field days.

My answer is hell yeah.

1) When I was in college, I was a hard core liberal..... I voted for Jesse Jackson in a primary for cryin' out loud. I would have loved Obama.

2) With my background, a roadie to the White House would have been a pretty big deal.

3) being liberal and all, I would have spent my time at the White House looking for something to steal.

In all seriousness, I would have gone because it would have been with my team. For me, my relationships with my teammates is closer than any group of people in my life, outside of family. I wouldn't have done anything to cause stir.

Now, let's say I won the US Open. I would have gone just so I could give the president the Jan Brewer treatment.

Subsidizing the rich/enabling dysfunction

Yesterday, I met with a client who was telling me about some of the shaking things her employers want her to do (ie making out paychecks to girlfiends, etc.) in the midst of our conversation she was telling me that her daughter recently had a child out of wedlock.

Now she was all prepared to provide her daughter with an apartment (they own a bunch of rental property) until she got on her feet. While her daughter was in the hospital, she was informed that qualified for the WIC (women infant and children) program.

So she went to the county and the social worker down there signed her up for all kinds of freebies, food stamps, ADC, subsidized housing, a regular welfare box of chocolates. She even advised the daughter not to get a job because it would mean that she would lose some of these benefits.

Since she's getting all the freebies, she decided that she didn't need the parent's help after all.

What's the significance of all this?

My client has a suspicion that her daughter's baby daddy is a drug user/dealer and doesn't want the grandchild expose to the dirt bag. Obviously, without the daughter living in their property they have less control over the situation.

Now ask yourself the following questions,

1) Do you think baby daddy is going to get his act together and start providing for his progeny?

2) Do you think that the daughter is going to get the smelling salts and kick this dirt bag out of her life?

3) Do you think that without welfare, her family would be able to financially pick up the slack for the daughter's and grand daughter's care?

4) Give me the odds that the grand child of my client will grow up to be taxpaying/productive citizen?

Monday, I had a client who cancelled an appointment so she could attend the funeral of her ex-husband, a forty year old who died of a heroin overdose. He was living with a woman who had kids through multiple baby daddy's. She could fund their drug habit with money from the taxpayer.

Did it ever occur to any of these liberal do-gooders that all of the "help" they like to dole out does nothing but keep people mired in misery?

Here's the difference between conservatives and liberals. When conservatives see this shit and it pisses them off. When liberals see it..... actually I don't know what they're thinking. Maybe they're not thinking at all.

Rather than deal with the complexities of U.S. tax law, Americans living overseas are increasingly renouncing their citizenship in order to avoid paying their income taxes.

According to National Taxpayer Advocate Nina E. Olson, approximately 4,000 people gave up their citizenship from fiscal year 2005 to FY 2010. Renunciations increased sharply within the past three years, from 146 in FY 2008 to 1,534 in FY 2010. And during the first two quarters of FY 2011 alone, 1,024 Americans ditched their citizenship.

We don't need no stinkin' rich people.

When burglar Kesler Dufrene became a twice-convicted felon in 2006, a Bradenton judge shipped him to prison for five years. And because of his convictions, an immigration judge ordered Dufrene deported to his native Haiti.

That never happened.

Instead, when Dufrene’s state prison term was up, Miami immigration authorities in October 2010 released him from custody. Two months later, North Miami police say, he slaughtered three people, including a 15-year-old girl in a murder case that remains as baffling today as it did the afternoon the bodies were discovered.

DNA on a rifle found inside the house and cellphone tracking technology later linked Dufrene to the Jan. 2, 2011, slayings.

But North Miami detectives never got to interrogate him. Just 18 days after the murders, Dufrene shot and killed himself when he was cornered by Manatee County sheriff’s deputies in Bradenton after an unrelated break-in and shooting there.

The episode is a black eye for U.S. authorities, who by law could not detain Dufrene indefinitely after the Obama administration ordered a temporary halt of deportations to the island nation.

Someone should tell the Obamunists that the Keystone pipeline is hauling oil from Canada to the gulf, not beer..............

President Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico is an act of national insanity. It isn't often that a president makes a decision that has no redeeming virtues and -- beyond the symbolism -- won't even advance the goals of the groups that demanded it. All it tells us is that Obama is so obsessed with his re-election that, through some sort of political calculus, he believes that placating his environmental supporters will improve his chances.

Aside from the political and public relations victory, environmentalists won't get much. Stopping the pipeline won't halt the development of tar sands, to which the Canadian government is committed; therefore, there will be little effect on global warming emissions. Indeed, Obama's decision might add to them. If Canada builds a pipeline from Alberta to the Pacific for export to Asia, moving all that oil across the ocean by tanker will create extra emissions. There will also be the risk of added spills.

Now consider how Obama's decision hurts the United States. For starters, it insults and antagonizes a strong ally; getting future Canadian cooperation on other issues will be harder. Next, it threatens a large source of relatively secure oil that, combined with new discoveries in the United States, could reduce (though not eliminate) our dependence on insecure foreign oil.

Finally, Obama's decision forgoes all the project's jobs. There's some dispute over the magnitude. Project sponsor TransCanada claims 20,000, split between construction (13,000) and manufacturing (7,000) of everything from pumps to control equipment. Apparently, this refers to "job years," meaning one job for one year. If so, the actual number of jobs would be about half that spread over two years. Whatever the figure, it's in the thousands and important in a country hungering for work. And Keystone XL is precisely the sort of infrastructure project that Obama claims to favor.

The big winners are the Chinese. They must be celebrating their good fortune and wondering how the crazy Americans could repudiate such a huge supply of nearby energy. There's no guarantee that tar-sands oil will go to China; pipelines to the Pacific would have to be built. But it creates the possibility when the oil's natural market is the United States.

If you are a current or former state employee in the state of Minnesota, watch out. Your pension depends on hot air, sketchy arithmetic, and the willingness of future taxpayers to make huge sacrifices to cover the deceit, wishful thinking and sketchy math at the heart of your pension system.

According to a recent analysis in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune by Mark Haveman (Executive Director of the Minnesota Taxpayers’ Association), Minnesota’s pension plans, even after recent mandatory increases in employee contributions, are essentially hollow. Even using the state’s extremely aggressive ‘assumed’ rate of 8.5 percent annual return on its investments, the pension fund is about $10.5 billion short of being able to pay off its future obligations. For every $1 the state has promised to pay retired civil service workers and teachers, it expects to have about 79¢. The good fairies and the wood elves are responsible for coming up with the rest of the money.

You know what I looking for in our current slate of republican candidates? Someone who will challenge the media to expose the total lack of fiduciary responsibility by all things liberal. Are these guys afraid offending a liberal voter who wouldn't vote for a republican if you promised free green energy for a lifetime?

A Des Moines man has been arrested after police say he used, or tried to use, the identity of Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz in a scheme to falsely implicate Schultz in perceived unethical behavior in office.

Zachary Edwards was arrested Friday and charged with identity theft.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety issued a news release saying Schultz’s office discovered the scheme on June 24, 2011 and notified authorities.

So who is Edwards?

Edwards is a former Obama staffer who directed “new media operations” for Obama in five states during the 2008 primaries. Thereafter, he was Obama’s Director of New Media for the State of Iowa. In the Democratic Party’s lexicon, “new media” apparently includes identity theft.

Edwards now works for LINK Strategies, a Democratic consulting firm with extraordinarily close ties to Iowa Democrat Tom Harkin. Its principal, Jeff Link, has served as Harkin’s campaign manager and chief of staff. Link, too, is a former Obama staffer. The LINK Strategies web site says that Jeff Link “served as a media consultant to the Obama for President Campaign, coordinating branding, all paid media and polling in 25 states, including seven battleground states (VA, NC, FL, CO, NM, NV, MT)….”

But hey, can we get some more dirt from one of Gingrich's ex's.

Life in "Progress" State - Illinois edition

From the state of Illinois, where it's easier to find gold than a conservative in state government..............

Though too few noticed, this month Moody's downgraded Illinois state debt to A2 from A1, the lowest among the 50 states. That's worse even than California. The state's cost of borrowing for $800 million of new 10-year general obligation bonds rose to 3.1%-which is 110 basis points higher than the 2% on top-rated 10-year bonds of more financially secure states.

This wasn't supposed to happen. Only a year ago, Governor Pat Quinn and his fellow Democrats raised individual income taxes by 67% and the corporate tax rate by 46%. They did it to raise $7 billion in revenue, as the Governor put it, to "get Illinois back on fiscal sound footing" and improve the state's credit rating.

So much for that. In its downgrade statement, Moody's panned Illinois lawmakers for "a legislative session in which the state took no steps to implement lasting solutions to its severe pension underfunding or to its chronic bill payment delays." An analysis by Bloomberg finds that the assets in the pension fund will only cover "45% of projected liabilities, the least of any state." And-no surprise-in part because the tax increases have caused companies to leave Illinois, the state budget office confesses that as of this month the state still has $6.8 billion in unpaid bills and unaddressed obligations.

It's worth contrasting this grim picture with that of Wisconsin north of the border. Last winter Madison was occupied by thousands of union protesters trying to bully legislators to defeat Republican Governor Scott Walker's plan to require government workers to pay a larger share of their health-plan costs, and to shore up the pension system by trimming future retirement liabilities. The reforms passed anyway.

In contrast to the Illinois downgrade, Moody's has praised Mr. Walker's budget as "credit positive for Wisconsin," adding that the money-saving reforms bring "the state's finances closer to a structural budgetary balance." As a result, Wisconsin jumped in Chief Executive magazine's 2011 ranking of each state's business climate-moving to 17th from 41st. Illinois dropped to 48th from 45th as ranked by the nation's top CEOs.

How conservatives are screwed

I was listening to a talk show the other day and the host was asking the question, are these last four guys remaining the best we can do?

The answer is yes.

If you are a conservative, you are bound to be disappointed.

Let's face it. If you are a true conservative, you don't believe that government works. So why would anyone pursue a job in an institution they don't believe in?

Conservatives are drawn to careers that matter (which by the way tends to make the most money). In a parallel to the old adage ............"Those who can do. Those who can't run a government".

So we're left with a group who have significant flaws.

If you've been wondering why I haven't posted in a few days it's because the coalition of Romney, Gingrich, Paul and Santorum = four more years of Obama. To say I've been depressed about the our future government would be an understatement.

So I'll try and get back in the fight and advancing the cause of conservatism even though we don't have the candidate who can do it.

The Blue-Green assault on workers

I've said it a hundred times. I'm not a conservative for me. Our family is well positioned to weather any liberal assault on our economy.

I'm a conservative for the working stiff.

Since Obama has decided to kill the Keystone pipeline, ask yourself the question.

Who gets hurt more?

Is it the ExxonMobil, Shell or BP executives who will simply retrieve the oil we want from other sources or will it be the guys who could have worked on that pipeline.

Some labor leaders are finally getting the smelling salts............

The Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) left the BlueGreen Alliance on Friday, citing a disagreement with the group’s members over the Keystone XL pipeline.

LIUNA, a vocal Keystone supporter, took aim at other unions for opposing the project.

“We’re repulsed by some of our supposed brothers and sisters lining up with job killers like the Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council to destroy the lives of working men and women,” LIUNA General President Terry O’Sullivan said in a statement.

The BlueGreen Alliance, a coalition of environmental groups and labor unions, confirmed LIUNA’s exit Friday afternoon.

“The BlueGreen Alliance regrets the decision of the Laborers' International Union of North America to leave our strategic partnership of labor and environmental organizations,” the group’s executive director, David Foster, said in a statement.

The move underscores the intense political divide among unions over the pipeline, which would carry oil sands crude from Alberta, Canada, to refineries along the Gulf Coast.

So let me ask the Obamunists who so oppose this pipeline.

Is it more environmentally friendly for the Canadians to sell and ship their oil to China while we buy and ship oil from the middle east to here?

Here's a dirty little secret the left doesn't want you to know. There's only one union that matters and that's the teachers union. All you others can go to hell.

When the companies that supply motor fuel close the books on 2011, they will pay about $6.8 million in penalties to the Treasury because they failed to mix a special type of biofuel into their gasoline and diesel as required by law.

But there was none to be had. Outside a handful of laboratories and workshops, the ingredient, cellulosic biofuel, does not exist.

In 2012, the oil companies expect to pay even higher penalties for failing to blend in the fuel, which is made from wood chips or the inedible parts of plants like corncobs. Refiners were required to blend 6.6 million gallons into gasoline and diesel in 2011 and face a quota of 8.65 million gallons this year.

“It belies logic,” Charles T. Drevna, the president of the National Petrochemicals and Refiners Association, said of the 2011 quota. And raising the quota for 2012 when there is no production makes even less sense, he said.

Penalizing the fuel suppliers demonstrates what happens when the federal government really, really wants something that technology is not ready to provide. In fact, while it may seem harsh that the Environmental Protection Agency is penalizing them for failing to do the impossible, the agency is being lenient by the standards of the law, the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act.

Now ask yourself the question. Who ultimately pays these fines? Hint. It's not the owners. It's not going to be the suppliers.

It will be the consumer. Once again Obama gives you that payroll tax holiday so you can pay it back in oil company fines.

Life in "Progress" City - Detroit edition

The struggling U.S. city of Detroit is on track to run out of money in May instead of April after spending changes made by city officials, Michigan Treasurer Andy Dillon said on Tuesday.

Dillon addressed media following a two-and-a-half-hour meeting with a team that is looking at Detroit's financial picture and trying to assess whether the city needs an emergency manager to take over operations. It was the first time the 10-member team met since it was appointed last month.

He said Detroit's most urgent issue is figuring out how to arrest escalating retiree health care costs, and clean up a balance sheet laden in debt and interest costs. Detroit Mayor Dave Bing had earlier predicted it would run out of money in April if spending wasn't curbed.

"It's my understanding that April has been pushed back to May," Dillon said, noting that the mayor "needs concessions from labor to avoid running short of cash."

David Brooks, Resident Idiot

This is what happens when you determine that a guy should be president because he has a great crease in his pants.

Center-right New York Times columnist David Brooks opined a few months ago that President Obama, whom he once supported, was governing like a liberal.

Today, Brooks doubled down, telling Laura Ingraham this morning that Obama is not only governing that way, he is that way — or at least more that way than Brooks once thought.

"I still like him and admire him personally, but he’s certainly more liberal than I thought he was,” Brooks said.

“He's more liberal than he thinks he is. He thinks he’s just slightly center-left, but when you get down to his instincts, they’re pretty left. And his problem is that he can’t really act on them, because it would be political disaster. And so that means, I think right now he’s doing very little, proposing very little."

Funny how all of parochial gun toting neanderthals in middle America seem to know this before the intelligentsia.......

Geithner, a government-and-academe man from way back, never really worked on Wall Street, though he once was offered a gig as CEO of Citigroup, which apparently thought he did an outstanding job as chairman of the New York Fed, where one of his main tasks was regulating Citigroup — until it collapsed into the yawning suckhole of its own cavernous ineptitude, at which point Geithner’s main job became shoveling tens of billions of federal dollars into Citigroup, in an ingeniously structured investment that allowed the government to buy a 27 percent share in the bank, for which it paid more than the entire market value of the bank. If you can’t figure out why you’d pay 100-plus percent of a bank’s value for 27 percent of it, then you just don’t understand high finance or high politics.

Are your national news media types so ingrained with liberal orthodoxy that they just can't even conceive of the notion that it's really the democrats who are the party of Wall Street and big dollar interests who love a government who will protect their turf from intruders?

It baffles the imagination.

Moving jobs to Mexico Act of 2012

Employers are facing more uncertainty in the wake of a letter from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission warning them that requiring a high school diploma from a job applicant might violate the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The development also has some wondering whether the agency’s advice will result in an educational backlash by creating less of an incentive for some high school students to graduate.

The “informal discussion letter” from the EEOC said an employer’s requirement of a high school diploma, long a standard criterion for screening potential employees, must be “job-related for the position in question and consistent with business necessity.” The letter was posted on the commission’s website on Dec. 2.

Employers could run afoul of the ADA if their requirement of a high school diploma “‘screens out’ an individual who is unable to graduate because of a learning disability that meets the ADA’s definition of ‘disability,’” the EEOC explained.

Who needs the aggravation?

Yesterday, I went to a pizza shop to get my monthly pizza cheat on and I ran across this sign at the fish market next to the pizza joint.




Seriously, the local fish market accepts EBT cards. I guess if you are a liberal, you probably think I'm a cold harded SOB trying to deny poor people their daily salmon. But I don't shop at this place because it's way over priced and their selection isn't much better than your local Kroger's store.

Besides, if you have the capability to head out to your local fish market (by the way, the local butcher is right next door and they accept the EBT as well) for over priced tuna or crab, you're not f$%king poor enough to need an EBT card.
