More EPA killing


Purdue University's decision to cancel an upgrade to its utility plant could cost taxpayers nearly $4.5 million, a newspaper reported.The project to replace a 51-year-old boiler had been in the works nearly 10 years when Purdue officials decided to scrub it in February.Purdue officials told the Journal & Courier that the current climate doesn't support continuing the project.

Since 2007, more than 60 proposed coal plants have been canceled or put on hold, and some universities have pledged to stop using coal. Last year, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announced it would end its use of coal in the next decade, and the Missouri University of Science and Technology is replacing its coal-fired boilers on campus with biomass.
