The eulogy you probably won't hear
Maybe this morning as all the political dignitaries line up to eulogize Ted Kennedy, some one will make room for Carla Gaviglio to tell a knee slapper or two.

Brasserie I: In December 1985, just before he announced he would run for president in 1988, Kennedy allegedly manhandled a pretty young woman employed as a Brasserie waitress. The woman, Carla Gaviglio, declined to be quoted in this article, but says the following account, a similar version of which first appeared in Penthouse last year, is full and accurate:
It is after midnight and Kennedy and Dodd are just finishing up a long dinner in a private room on the first floor of the restaurant’s annex. They are drunk. Their dates, two very young blondes, leave the table to go to the bathroom. (The dates are drunk too. “They’d always get their girls very, very drunk,” says a former Brasserie waitress.) Betty Loh, who served the foursome, also leaves the room. Raymond Campet, the co-owner of La Brasserie, tells Gaviglio the senators want to see her.
As Gaviglio enters the room, the six-foot-two, 225-plus-pound Kennedy grabs the five-foot-three, 103-pound waitress and throws her on the table. She lands on her back, scattering crystal, plates and cutlery and the lit candles. Several glasses and a crystal candlestick are broken. Kennedy then picks her up from the table and throws her on Dodd, who is sprawled in a chair. With Gaviglio on Dodd’s lap, Kennedy jumps on top and begins rubbing his genital area against hers, supporting his weight on the arms of the chair. As he is doing this, Loh enters the room. She and Gaviglio both scream, drawing one or two dishwashers. Startled, Kennedy leaps up. He laughs. Bruised, shaken and angry over what she considered a sexual assault, Gaviglio runs from the room. Kennedy, Dodd and their dates leave shortly thereafter, following a friendly argument between the senators over the check.

Americans afraid of change?
I was surfing over at Real Clear Politics and I saw this headline from liberal, Michael Kinsley
Why are Americans Resisting Change?
Is Kinsley a moron or an aspiring comedian?
Of course, this article is related to the health care debate so let me enlighten Kinsley as to why all of us unenlightened hillbillies are resistant to "change" as introduced by our government.
1) Kinsley was born in 1951, so he was conscience of the change we'd have in this country if only we passed Great Society legislation. You know. We'd finally be rid of poverty in our inner cities. Poor kids could be educated and equality would be finally be ours in this utopia.
Well, it didn't quite work out that way now did it? We ended up spending TRILLIONS of dollars trying to make poor people not so poor and all we ended up with was drug infested shit holes now called cities.
Today, we not only have more economic poverty but a population of millions who have been infected with poverty of the soul.
2) Maybe it was the promise of Social Security where people would be forced to set aside money for their own retirement. The promise of this "change" was that this would be totally self sufficient program.
What we received was a giant Ponzi scheme that is in the red to the tune of 20 TRILLION dollars with no ability to cover the retirement liability for gen x retirees, hell for that matter baby boomers.
3) How about Medicare? Once again, we were promised a self sufficient medical program for seniors that is now over 20 TRILLION dollars in the red.
4) Maybe it's the fact that conservatives can see the government locomotive that can't change course once it gets moving.
Of course, you'd never know it from the state of California where the land of plenty is a total basket case buckling under the very "change" Kinsley so proposes.
I'm still waiting for one liberal to have the balls to debate me on this blog on any issue related to government spending. Actually, I've trolled several liberal blogs in an attempt to take the debate to them but you'll never get a post on a liberal blog defending the indefensible.
What you get on their blogs is a detailed debate on whether Bush shares DNA with Hitler.
So Mike, unlike you well educated liberal a-holes; conervatives are actually aware enough to see when we're getting smoke blown up our asses and we have 70 years of government "change" since the New Deal to back us up.
So you tell me why you wouldn't be afraid of the change you so dearly espouse?

Meet the unidentified grandmother of a 15 year old stripper.
This one could be difficult. Given how she attacks a cameraman with a hoe, you might make the mistake of stereotyping her as one of those astroturf, republican, health care protesters.
None the less, last November, did this upstanding citizen vote for hope and change or 4 more years of Bush.
As an aside, the fifteen year old stripper who hasn't been to school since 7th grade and law enforcement thinks that truancy may be a problem? You think?
That probably makes her a natural GOP constituent.

In a windowless room in a shabby office building at Seventh Avenue and Twenty-eighth Street, in Manhattan, a poster is taped to a wall, whose message could easily be the mission statement for a day-care center: “Children are fragile. Handle with care.” It’s a June morning, and there are fifteen people in the room, four of them fast asleep, their heads lying on a card table. Three are playing a board game. Most of the others stand around chatting. Two are arguing over one of the folding chairs. But there are no children here. The inhabitants are all New York City schoolteachers who have been sent to what is officially called a Temporary Reassignment Center but which everyone calls the Rubber Room.
These fifteen teachers, along with about six hundred others, in six larger Rubber Rooms in the city’s five boroughs, have been accused of misconduct, such as hitting or molesting a student, or, in some cases, of incompetence, in a system that rarely calls anyone incompetent.
The teachers have been in the Rubber Room for an average of about three years, doing the same thing every day—which is pretty much nothing at all. Watched over by two private security guards and two city Department of Education supervisors, they punch a time clock for the same hours that they would have kept at school—typically, eight-fifteen to three-fifteen. Like all teachers, they have the summer off. The city’s contract with their union, the United Federation of Teachers, requires that charges against them be heard by an arbitrator, and until the charges are resolved—the process is often endless—they will continue to draw their salaries and accrue pensions and other benefits.
“You can never appreciate how irrational the system is until you’ve lived with it,” says Joel Klein, the city’s schools chancellor, who was appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg seven years ago.
"Irrational"? Isn't that what makes it "progressive"?

Since, democrats are so willing to use Kennedy's death as a political prop to bring us socialized medicine, I'm giving up my policy of speaking ill of the dead with this little reminder of our selfless servant.

Needing that extra week
So the next time you go on vacation and say, oh, you missed a flight, got food poisoning, a bad sun burn and you really didn't get to enjoy that vacation to the extent you wanted. Just use your Obama school of work ethic, call your boss on Thursday and tell him you need an extra week........
For Obama, it would be easier to count the nights he's actually in the White House. He's averaging less than one a week.
Reminder, I believe there is no such thing as a vacation for the president. However, if you were one of those douchebags who criticized Bush, I expect nothing less than a criticism of The One.

The president is going to add another min-vacation to his August break next week with a a four-day weekend at Camp David. No big deal.
But the administration, ever sensitive to criticism, had to rationalize the time at the presidential retreat, with Spokesman Bill Burton saying that the vacation week has been newsier than expected considering the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy.

'As I recall, the previous president [took] quite a bit of vacation himself, and I don't think anyone bemoaned that,' Burton said.""
I guess you have to say that perhaps no one bemoaned Bush's vacations -- attacked, lamented, scourged, bashed, snarled over etc.

You know the difference between republican and democrats? When Ted Stevens was indicted for what now looks like trumped up charges, you couldn't find a conservative in town defending that piece of shit.
When democrats are caught with their hand in the cookie job. Not only do liberals defend them, they vote for them again (see Ray Nagin, Marion Barry, Charlie Rangel et al).

Earlier this month the Chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee "amended" his 2007 financial disclosure form—to the tune of more than a half-million dollars in previously unreported assets and income. That number may be as high as $780,000, because Congress's ethics rules only require the Members to report their finances within broad ranges. This voyage of personal financial discovery brings Mr. Rangel's net worth for 2007 to somewhere between $1.028 million and $2.495 million, while his previous statement came in at $516,015 and $1.316 million.
When you're a powerful Congressman and working diligently to increase tax rates to pay for President Obama's health-care plan, we suppose it's easy to lose track of one of your checking accounts. That would be the one at the federal credit union with a balance somewhere between $250,001 and maybe as high as $500,000. And when you're crunched for time and pulling together bills to pass in a rush, we guess, too, that you might overlook several other investment accounts, even if some of them are sizable, such as the ones Mr. Rangel missed at JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, Oppenheimer and BlackRock.

California taxpayers just got hit with another increase in state income taxes, and it didn't require a vote from a single legislator.The culprit: deflation.
In 1982, California voters approved a proposition that indexed state income tax rates to inflation. So each year, the California Franchise Tax Board adjusts tax brackets and certain deductions and credits for inflation. The annual adjustment is tied to the California Consumer Price Index, and it usually goes up. Indexing is designed to prevent people from paying higher taxes as their incomes rise proportionately with inflation. But when inflation turns negative, indexing works in reverse. Tax brackets and credits are adjusted downward. If your income remains the same, the result is a tax increase.
