I am Bill

In response to the republican's "I am Joe" theme, Iowahawk has incorporated the fairness doctrine and done an "I am Bill" piece.

Excerpt

I AM BILL. I am the everyday forgotten little guy in your neighborhood, the quiet anarcho-syndicalist family man who gets up early and punches the clock at the local state university, writing the manifestos and polemics and grant proposals that keep America humming. I'm just doing my job, and all I ask in return is a little respect. And tenure. And Chicago Citizen of the Year awards. And two graduate assistants to grade exams for Practicum in Imperialist Racist Hegemony 311, because I'm teaching two sections this semester. Also, a sabbatical to Italy next summer would be nice.

I AM BILL. I grew up in a simple little gated community just like yours, with white picket fences and where all the aux pairs and gardeners know your name. When my dad came home from a hard day's work as a CEO, he was never too tired to help me with my homework or tousle my hair for winning the Lake Forest Academy essay contest on Hegelian Dialectics. Yes, he was a simpleminded bourgeois technocrat of the capitalist war machine, but he made sure I got the tuition and tutors and sailing lessons and allowance I needed to make it on my own. I wish he was still alive so I could tell him how much I really planned to kill him last.

I AM BILL. I work with my hands, grizzled and calloused from years on a non-ergonomic keyboard. Maybe I don't know pipe wrenches, but I know pipe bombs, and I've built them right there in my communal kitchen and I've watched with pride as they've offed a couple of pigs. Sure, maybe I've made a few mistakes with wiring or detonator timing and it ends up killing a couple of comrades. But you know what? I get up, dust myself off, and get right back to the drawing board. Because when it comes to international Maoist revolution, quitters never win and winners never quit.

The Chicken button

The party of fair elections

From the NY Post....

Thirteen campaign workers for Barack Obama yesterday yanked their voter registrations and ballots in Ohio after being warned by a prosecutor that temporary residents can't vote in the battleground state.

A dozen staffers - including Obama Ohio spokeswoman Olivia Alair and James Cadogan, who recently joined Team Obama - signed a form letter asking the Franklin County elections board to pull their names from the rolls.

The letter - a copy of which was obtained by palestra.net, a Fox News affiliate - came a day after prosecutor Ron O'Brien publicly urged out-of-state campaign workers for both Obama and John McCain to "examine your conscience" before the elections board beings begins opening absentee ballots today.

Earlier in the week, O'Brien spoke with lawyers for both camps and urged them to make sure their staffs met permanent-residency rules, or face possible felony charges.

Also pulling his ballot yesterday was Hofstra University grad Jake Smith, an Obama volunteer who had voted in Knox County, Ohio.

On Thursday, O'Brien cut a deal with 13 out-of-staters, including four from New York, who tossed out their already-cast ballots and admitted they didn't meet residency requirements.

I find a certain irony that few of the liberal Ohio blogs find this to be a problem.

I guess it's not a problem when it's your team committing felonies.

Life in "Progress" City

So if "progressives" are better at running government, why is it that everything they run is a cesspool?

Take the city of Chicago; where the US Marshalls, the FBI and a pack of bloodhounds couldn't find a republican.

How's life in this bubbling bastion of "progressive" policies? Ask Jennifer Hudson's mother, who was gunned down last night, the 426th homicide this year, more then soldiers killed in Iraq.

Chicago is the Second City in nickname and the third in population, but when it comes to murder, the city has the dubious distinction of being second to no city in America.

As CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli reports, the Chicago Sun-Times pointed out on Friday that Chicago has seen 426 homicides this year through Tuesday, compared with 417 in New York and 302 in Los Angeles.

At the end of 1998, Chicago made international headlines as the U.S. "murder capital" after surpassing New York's homicide totals for the first time ever. Chicago shed that dubious distinction when murders plummeted over the last decade.

There are more than 8 million people in New York, compared to slightly under 3 million in Chicago. The population of Los Angeles exceeds that of Chicago by more than 800,000.

Murder is also up, at a lower rate, in New York.

The alarming statistics were expected to come up on Friday when Police Supt. Jody Weis once again appeared before the City Council to address a crime rate that many believe has spun out of control. He appeared at a City Council budget hearing, which began at 10 a.m.

What the hell is so "progressive" about being murdered?

Just think if we get all these Chicago pols in Washington the whole country will run just as nicely as the "Second City".

Culture of corruption - Teamster style

Once again, the only media outlets who seem to want to vet out political campaign are foreign.

From the Canadian Free Press......
The Wall Street Journal recently reported that last summer, Illinois Senator Barack Obama told officials in the Teamsters union that he favored ending the Independent Review Board (IRB) that was created in 1989 by the federal government to rid the union of organized crime.

Tommy Vietor, a spokesman for Obama, confirmed the story, saying that the candidate believed that the IRB had “run its course” because “organized crime influence in the union has drastically declined.”

The Teamsters subsequently endorsed Obama for president, in late February.
Obama and the Teamsters bristled at suggestions that any deal was made.

The Obama campaign also circulated a tape of a speech that Senator Hillary Clinton made last March to the Teamsters saying “at some point the past has to be opened,” but Clinton’s statement, like those made by Senator John Kerry in 2004, stopped well short of committing her to end oversight of the Teamsters.

“So what do you expect from a Chicago politician,” quips former NYPD detective Mike Snipes who investigated organized crime in the 1970s.

“Obama wants to use the Teamsters as his foot-soldiers to get out the vote. The Teamsters want Obama to call off the watchdogs so they can return to their cozy relationship with organized crime,” said the decorated detective.

Meet Kena Ross.

Why is Ms. Ross in the news?

A 29-year-old mother of seven from Winton Hills is facing 10 years in prison after being convicted of endangering children. Kena Ross handcuffed her young children because she was afraid they would eat all of the food in the house. The abuse was discovered after Ross and her boyfriend Christopher Gray took Ross's 4-year-old son to the hospital two weeks after he suffered a bad burn to his hand.

Doctors noticed the cuff marks on the boy's wrist and notified police.

What none of the news services wanted to mention was that Ms. Ross had six children with a seventh on the way ( as I heard on WLW friday night )..... at 29 YEARS OLD......

Who will they vote for? Conclusion

On the heels of the McCain supporter who accused a black man of robbing and carving a "B" into her face, I think it's a good time to conclude my series on who they will for vote.

If you read my previous "who will they vote for" posts, you will see that one of Obama's biggest voting blocs is a group made up of every ding dong, derelict, and douche bag in the country.

Below, is a list of various groups and people who will pull for their candidate in ten days. Look at the list. Consider the following questions....

Why would these groups support one candidate over the other?

Which group would you want as your next door neighbor?

Which group would you want to teach your children?

Who would you rather have over to your house for a beer?

Which group has more wisdom?

Keep in mind, you are the company you keep. So a vote for Obama is a vote for criminals, Larry Flynt, and welfare queens whereas a vote for McCain is a vote for our military, cops, and Ted Nugent.

With all that said, who do you want to align yourself with?

can't stand the heat? call Al Gore

A funny post on the Gore Effect.....

The phenomenon that leads to unseasonably cold temperatures, driving rain, hail, or snow whenever Al Gore visits an area to discuss global warming. Hence, the Gore Effect.

Apparently, The Goricle strode into Harvard yesterday under these weather conditions.

In Cambridge, the warmest October 22nd occurred in 1979 when the temperature climbed to 83 °F. Well, it doesn't look like what they see today. Even the average high temperature for this day is 60 °F which is still far too high. After the noon, the temperature in Cambridge is 44.5 °F. Tonight, it is predicted to drop to 34 °F, close to the record low of 28 °F measured in 1940.

Obamamania - Catch it

Life under the Axis of Taxes

So you think a triumvirate of democratic leadership is going to be a big boon to the economy.

Well, what do you think of this plan being looked at by the current democratic house.....
Powerful House Democrats are eyeing proposals to overhaul the nation's $3 trillion 401(k) system, including the elimination of most of the $80 billion in annual tax breaks that 401(k) investors receive.

House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-Calif., and Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee's Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, are looking at redirecting those tax breaks to a new system of guaranteed retirement accounts to which all workers would be obliged to contribute.

A plan by Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic-policy analysis at The New School for Social Research in New York, contains elements that are being considered. She testified last week before Mr. Miller's Education and Labor Committee on her proposal.

Snip....

Under Ms. Ghilarducci's plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5% of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration. The money in turn would be invested in special government bonds that would pay 3% a year, adjusted for inflation.

That same Social Security Administration that maintains a retirement plan with a 27 TRILLION dollar unfunded liability!

Tell me more.....

And this is Bush's fault

I'm confused.

On January, 2007 the national unemployment rate was 4.6%, the Ohio rate was 5.3%.

On September, 2008 the unemployment rate 6.1% nationally, 7.2% for Ohio.

And the current high unemployment is Bush's fault? Huh.

He was the same president for the previous six years when the unemployment rate floated between 4.5 - 5.5% . If he's responsible for the current rate, shouldn't he be given credit for the low rates the previous six years as well?

Let's face it, Bush has been president for nearly eight years. For the first six, things seem to be moving rather swimmingly in the economy; then we hit a speed bump that started around January, 2007.

What changed?

If you are inclined to blaming politicians, you can start with the democratic congress and senate who took over in January, 2007.

For Ohioans, democrats also took over all but one statewide office on January.

See a correlation here?

But let's look to Michigan where, in January of 2003, unemployment was 7.1% (John Engler, republican was governor). Today, their unemployment rate is 8.7%. Is it a coincidence that Jennifer Granholm, a democrat is the current governor? I don't think so.

Now it occurs to me that when you look at any area of this country dominated by democratic governance, you find higher than the national average unemployment (along with higher crime, crappy schools, more homeless, deteriorating real estate values, etc).

Yet somehow Obama supporters think he's going to change our current economic climate? What are you smoking? What will he do that won't be a duplication of what Governor Ted and Granholm have done?

How the people of Michigan and Ohio cannot connect that democratic policies are what's put a hurt on our respective economies is beyond me.

But, I have to give it to democrats; they are the one party who figured out a way to benefit from the very pain they inflict on its citizens.

Obama's contributions

Atlas Shrugs with an awesome post on illegal contributions to the Obama campaign.

Specifically, people are testing the campaign by using their credit card with bogus names noted on the contribution.
There is enormous amount of money being secreted into the Obama campaign from foreign sources. It is fairly safe to say these countries will be richly rewarded - Kenya, Indonesia but most of all - Obama will drop a load on the UN. Fosho.

The crooked, corrupt international one world global warmers have the largest stake in this election.

Back on August 14th, I wrote that Julia Gorin told me a funny story. About four months ago. Her husband's co-worker wanted to see what would happen if he tried giving a contribution to the Obama campaign via a credit card. He used his Macy's card. The system accepted it. He tried the same with McCain's campaign, and the transaction wouldn't go through.

Atlas reader Craig submits to me the following,

I may have just uncovered how the Obama campaign is facilitating massive donation fraud.

I’ve read recent reports of the Obama campaign receiving donations from dubious names and foreign locales and it got me wondering; how is this possible?

I run a small internet business and when I process credit cards I’m required to make sure the name on the card exactly matches the name of the customer making the purchase. Also, the purchasers address must match that of the cardholders. If these don’t match, then the payment isn’t approved. Period. So how is it possible that the Obama campaign could receive donations from fictional people and places? Well, I decided to do a little experiment. I went to the Obama campaign website and entered the following:

Name: John Galt

Address: 1957 Ayn Rand Lane

City: Galts Gulch

State: CO

Zip: 99999

Then I checked the box next to $15 and entered my actual credit card number and expiration date (it didn’t ask for the 3-didgit code on the back of the card) and it took me to the next page and…

Your donation has been processed. Thank you for your generous gift.”

This simply should not, and could not, happen in any business or any campaign that is honestly trying to vet it’s donors. Also, I don’t see how this could possibly happen without the collusion of the credit card companies. They simply wouldn’t allow any business to process, potentially, hundreds of millions in credit card transactions where the name on the card doesn’t match the purchasers name.

I guess the Washington Post will catch up with that as soon as they finish their expose about John McCain stiffing a restaurant server in 1984.

Maybe they'll vet this?

I'm sure the Chicago Tribune will get to this right after they finish their story on Cindy McCain being rich.
What do Bart Simpson, Family Guy, Daffy Duck, King Kong, O.J. Simpson, and Raela Odinga have in common?

All are celebrities; and with the exception of Odinga and O.J. Simpson, they also are fictional characters. And yet, all of them gave money earlier this month to the campaign of Barack Obama, without any apparent effort by the campaign to screen them out as suspect donors.

The Obama fundraising machine may owe its sensational success in part to a relaxation of standard online merchant security practices, which has allowed illegal donations from foreign donors and from unknown individuals using anonymous “gift” cards, industry analysts and a confidential informant tell Newsmax.

An ongoing Newsmax investigation into the Obama campaign’s finance reports has exposed multiple instances of campaign finance violations and has been cited in a formal complaint to the Federal Election Commission filed by the Republican National Committee on Oct. 6.

Though many of the known violations include donations in excess of the $2,300 per election limit on individual contributions and contributions from foreign nationals, the extent of the amount of fraud is hidden because of a loophole in federal election law.

Campaigns are not required to disclose contributors who donate less than $200 — and Obama’s campaign refuses to release their names, addresses, and donation amounts. Obama has collected a staggering $603.2 million. Most of the money — $543.3 million — has come from individual contributors, half of it from “small” donors Obama won’t disclose.

Thought of the day II

For the past two weeks, I've been averaging at least twenty of those Kenyan email solicitations a day. All I have to do is give some guy my bank account number, and I'll have millions in my bank account tomorrow.

In addition, I've seen at least twenty "Obama's going to make me rich" campaign ads every day. All I have to do is vote for him and I never need to do a damn thing again because The Messiah will take care of me.

Coincidence? I don't think so.

Thought of the Day

The Obamunists have generated in excess of $600 MILLION dollars in campaign funds this campaign season.

Out of curiosity, shouldn't Obama be "spreading the wealth" to those less fortunate? I mean c'mon, throw a few bucks to Bob Barr, Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, et al.

It's not their fault the public doesn't find their ideas worth donating to. Right?

I'm sure the Obama campaign will donate as much as Joe Biden gives to charity to help those less fortunate? Hey Ralph, can you use $300.00?

Obamanomics - catch it

From the WSJ....

"I think at this point there needs to be a focus on an immediate increase in spending and I think this is a time when deficit fear has to take a second seat . . . I believe later on there should be tax increases. Speaking personally, I think there are a lot of very rich people out there whom we can tax at a point down the road and recover some of the money."
-- Barney Frank, October 20, 2008

The election is still two weeks away, but we are already living in the world of Obamanomics. In fact, on fiscal policy we've been living in that world at least since February when the Bush Administration conceded to the Congressional priority of Keynesian fiscal "stimulus." That didn't work very well, but no matter. Spurred on by Barack Obama, Democrats in Congress are preparing Round Two, this time in the form of $150 billion to $300 billion in new spending.

If we may borrow a phrase, this is the triumph of hope over experience. The one thing Washington hasn't failed to do in recent years is spend, yet the economy doesn't seem to have improved on the event. Brian Riedl, a budget expert at the Heritage Foundation, has calculated that in 2008 Congress enacted $332 billion of "emergency" supplemental spending bills, only half of which was for the Iraq war. Do you feel stimulated?

Another Obama commie bud

Does The Messiah have any long term friends who aren't anti American bigots?

Here's yet another one.
With what little media oxygen there has been sucked out by the largely uninformative discussion of Ayers (and his wife and Weather Underground ally, Bernadine Dohrn) — in which the mantra “unrepentant terrorist” has been a pale substitute for the critical matter of the Ayers’s ideology that Obama plainly shares — much has been missed. Significantly, that includes another key Obama contact, Mike Klonsky.

Here’s what you need to know. Klonsky is an unabashed communist whose current mission is to spread Marxist ideology in the American classroom. Obama funded him to the tune of nearly $2 million. Obama, moreover, gave Klonsky a broad platform to broadcast his ideas: a “social justice” blog on the official Obama campaign website.

To be clear, as it seems always necessary to repeat when Obamaniacs, in their best Saul Alinsky tradition, shout down the opposition: This is not about guilt by association. The issue is not that Obama knows Klonsky … or Ayers … or Dohrn … or Wright … or Rashid Khalidi …

The issue is that Obama promoted and collaborated with these anti-American radicals. The issue is that he shared their ideology.

Klonsky’s communist pedigree could not be clearer. His father, Robert Klonsky, was an American communist who was convicted in the mid-Fifties for advocating the forcible overthrow of the United States government — a violation of the Smith Act, anti-communist legislation ultimately gutted by the Supreme Court. In the Sixties, Klonsky the younger teamed with Ayers, Dohrn, and other young radicals to form the Students for a Democratic Society. It was out of the SDS that Ayers and Dohrn helped found the Weatherman terrorist group.

Klonsky took a different path, albeit one that led inexorably to a new partnership with Ayers, which Obama mightily helped underwrite. Upon splitting off from the SDS, Klonsky formed a Maoist organization, first known as the “October League,” which ultimately became the “Communist Party (Marxist Leninist).”

Klonsky was CP(ML)’s chairman. He was so highly thought of by Mao’s regime that he was among the first Americans invited to visit Communist China. When he was feted there in 1977, a year after Mao’s death, the communist leadership hailed Klonsky’s party as “reflecting the aspirations of the proletariat and working people.”

The questions

How much do Joe and Suzie currently pay in federal, FICA, medicare, state of Ohio and city of Cincinnati taxes?

How much should they pay to make it "fair"?

Will they try to arrest Colin Powell?

Over at King's Right....

An anti-war protester confronted former Bush administration aide Karl Rove while he spoke at a San Francisco mortgage bankers' meeting.

A statement by the group Code Pink identified the woman as 58-year-old Janine Boneparth, who tried to handcuff Rove in what she called a citizen's arrest for "treason."

Rove, who was speaking Tuesday at the Mortgage Bankers Association's annual convention, elbowed Boneparth away as she was escorted off the stage.

In total, five Code Pink members were removed from the hall during Rove's appearance. The organization says none of the five women were charged.

It is undeniable that Obama's record in the Illinois Legislature was conventionally liberal on crime and spending, and radical on abortion. During his brief U.S. Senate career, he has carefully avoided offending liberal constituencies. As a presidential candidate, Obama has felt no need to develop a third-way alternative to the Gore-Kerry agenda; his convention speech, to the contrary, was the Platonic form of that approach. According to this poll it's not The Messiah.
A poll by the Military Times newspaper group suggests that there is overwhelming support for John McCain among U.S. troops in every branch of the armed forces by a nearly 3-1 margin.

According to the poll, 68 percent of active-duty and retired servicemen and women support McCain, while 23 percent support Barack Obama. The numbers are nearly identical among officers and enlisted troops.

Click here to see the raw data.

The Military Times, which publishes the Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times, polled 80,000 subscribers from Sept 22 to Sept. 29. The non-scientific survey gathered 4,300 respondents -- all of them registered and eligible to vote.

'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did. The wheat grew
very tall and ripened into golden grain.

'Who will help me reap my wheat?' asked the little red hen.

'Not I,' said the duck.

'Out of my classification,' said the pig.

'I'd lose my seniority,' said the cow.

'I'd lose my unemployment compensation,' said the goose.

'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did.

At last it came time to bake the bread.

'Who will help me bake the bread?' asked the little red hen.

'That would be overtime for me,' said the cow.

'I'd lose my welfare benefits,' said the duck.

'I'm a dropout and never learned how,' said the pig.

'If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination,' said the goose.

'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen.

She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, 'No, I shall eat all five loaves.'

'Excess profits!' cried the cow. (Harry Reid)

'Capitalist leech!' screamed the duck. (Barney Frank)

'I demand equal rights!' yelled the goose. (Nancy Pelosi)

The pig just grunted in disdain. (Ted Kennedy)

And they all painted 'Unfair!' picket signs and marched around and around the little red
hen, shouting obscenities.

Then the farmer (Obama) came. He said to the little red hen, 'You must not be so greedy.'

'But I earned the bread,' said the little red hen.

'Exactly,' said Barack the farmer. 'That is what makes our free enterprise system so
wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he
wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle.'

And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, 'I am grateful, for now I truly understand.'

But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the 'party' and got her bread free. And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been established.

Individual initiative had died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared...so long as
there was free bread that 'the rich' were paying
for it.

Nevermind there was no bread to share anymore.

IS THIS A GREAT BARNYARD OR WHAT
