Concealed Carry 1.........

..........Thugs zero

A deadly shooting at the Dayton Mall all over a pair of popular sneakers.

Miami Township Police say it all went down when three teens tried to rob a man outside the Dayton Mall on the sidewalk.

They say one teen pointed a gun at the man and demanded the sneakers he had just bought.

"Just heard a loud bang on the east side of Penny's. I don't know if it was a gunshot or not," said a Miami Township Officer to dispatch.

Miami Township Police were on the scene within seconds Saturday morning.

"Miami 221 get me a medic started," said Miami Township Officer to dispatch.

They found 16-year-old Jawaad Jabaar lying on the ground and within minutes knew what happened.

"I have the shooter with me. This is an attempted robbery, one subject down the other two took off running,," said the officer to dispatch.

Miami Township Police say Jabaar and two other teens tried to rob a man and his friend.

They didn't want money what they wanted was a pair of popular sneakers.

"What's tragic is someone lost their life over tennis shoes," said Sgt. Jay Phares, Miami Township Police Department.

“All the subjects involved in this were there for an athletic shoe release,” Miami Twp. Police Sgt. Jay Phares told reporters Monday. “The juvenile wasn’t able to get in line in time to get these shoes that were being sold and decided to try to take them from somebody who did get some shoes, with force with a firearm.”
Phares would not release the name of the shooter, who has been questioned but not arrested or charged.
“We’re looking at everybody and everything,” Phares said when asked about criminal charges.
According to the Miami Twp. police incident report, at least four adult males — ages 66, 48, 42 and 26 — witnessed the shooting. The 26-year-old was also listed as a victim. No other details about that victim were immediately available.
The shooter and another adult male came out of the mall and were approached by three male juveniles, including Jawaad.
“When he was threatened with the firearm, he drew his firearm and discharged it into the juvenile,” Phares said. “What’s tragic is that somebody lost their life over tennis shoes.”
The remaining juveniles fled after the shooting, which occurred about 10 a.m. One was caught on the mall’s south lot. The other was arrested in Middletown, according to Phares.

I didn't know I was black #2

My bride and I go out about three times a year to a fancy restaurant for a nice night out.

When we do we'll usually use the valet service.

I bet it's happened a half dozen times when I've pulled up and I've seen someone waiting out front and I've asked the person if they are the valet because the valets are out getting their cars and it's happened to me a couple of times.

But apparently that happens because you are a racist.

I never knew I was black

When old people have asked me to get something off the shelf for them, I always assumed that it was because I was taller than they are and could reach the product.

But, according to Michelle Obama, it's because I'm black.

“I tell this story – I mean, even as the first lady – during that wonderfully publicized trip I took to Target, not highly disguised, the only person who came up to me in the store was a woman who asked me to help her take something off a shelf. Because she didn’t see me as the first lady, she saw me as someone who could help her.

Hell if I would have known that I could have gotten into Harvard.

Caroline Glick tells off Danish ambassador

Why I carry

I have a concealed carry permit and I use it.

Why?

Because I don't want to be inside of a coffee shop when a pack of armed derelicts decide to take it over.....

An Iranian-born gunman and one of his hostages were reportedly shot dead in a dramatic and chaotic firefight that ended the Sydney cafe siege after a tense 17-hour stand-off.

A swarm of heavily armed police stormed the Lindt Chocolat cafe in a hail of gunfire and stun grenades in the early hours of the morning.
There were that at least three others were injured, but this could not immediately be confirmed.

Live television coverage showed at least two people being taken away from the scene on stretchers. One hostage was seen being carried out of the building. She appeared to be in pain, and blood flowed down her legs.

Nine News reported that eleven hostages had been accounted for after the police raid, which occurred shortly after 2am.

Life in "Progress" States - The Northeast corridor edition

For October, [John York] had paid $376. For November, with virtually no change in his volume of work and without having turned up the thermostat in his two-room shop, his bill came to $788, a staggering increase of 110 percent. “This is insane,” he said, shaking his head. “We can’t go on like this.”
For months, utility companies across New England have been warning customers to expect sharp price increases, for which the companies blame the continuing shortage of pipeline capacity to bring natural gas to the region.
Now that the higher bills are starting to arrive, many stunned customers are finding the sticker shock much worse than they imagined. Mr. York said he would have to reduce his hours, avoid hiring any new employees, cut other expenses and ultimately pass the cost on to his customers. . .
For the coming winter, National Grid, the largest utility in Massachusetts, expects prices to rise to 24.24 cents, a record high. The average customer will pay $121.20 a month, a 37 percent increase from $88.25 last winter.

Who do you think is responsible for this? Those four crazy republicans in the northeast.

Last week this headline got my attention

How Working a Full-Time Job at Whole Foods Left Me Broke

Let me give you the cliff notes version to save you the palm in face reaction to reading this.

Nick takes a job at Whole Foods, he doesn't like his work schedule and pay.

He quits.

For most people, that insight would have resulted in them quitting in about two weeks. It took Nick years.

Let me get the clue phone ringing for Nick. When the owners of Whole Foods started the company, the mission statement didn't begin with "We need to hire Nick and pay him what he wants and give him the schedule that works for him".

I'm guessing that he's figured it out, but I still have my doubts.

Who did he vote for? #110

Meet professor Edelman.

Why is he in the news?

If you think bullies are teenagers lurking on schoolyard playgrounds, think again.  At least one is a grown-up walking the hallowed halls of Harvard University.

His name is Ben Edelman.  He not only teaches there, but he earned several diplomas including a law degree at that storied institution of higher education.  But Edelman seems to have adopted the word “higher” as his personal calling card.  You see, he’s higher than you and me. Or at least he seems anxious to let you know it.

A hardworking Chinese immigrant family found that out when the professor ordered a takeout meal of shredded chicken with spicy garlic sauce and three other dishes.

Edelman thought he was overcharged by $ 4 bucks ($ 1 dollar more for each dish), so he launched a relentless war on Ran Duan, who works with his parents at their restaurant, Sichuan Garden in Brookline.  You can read the sordid details in a story at Boston.com where the website also published the unbelievable litany of Edelman’s intimidating and condescending emails to Duan.  The prof’s remarks ooze with arrogance and conceit.

Edelman’s exchange with Duan has become a viral sensation, as it should.  A Harvard professor vowing legal action over the sum of $ 4 dollars.  Come on.

The professor has now apologized for his treatment of Duan and his family, but his emails will leave you shaking your head in disbelief that someone so supposedly “learned” could be so seemingly insufferable.  Maybe that’s what a Harvard education gets you these days –a degree in imperiousness.

So in the last election did this douche post his chad for Romney or Obama?

Maybe they were born that way

Mika seems a little judgmental about an alternative lifestyle.

It ain't torture if you can watch it.

So Dianne Feinstein is coming out with her "torture"report.

Apparently the prevailing sentiment is that waterboarding is is torture.

Bullshit!!!!!

How do you know waterboarding is not torture? Because you can watch a hundred videos of it being done on Youtube. drunk college kids doing it to each other. Radio personalities having it done to them. etc.

Do you think Youtube would allow videos of people having bamboo shoots shot under someone's nails? Do you think ole mancow would be lining up for a little electro shock therapy? Could you watch a video of a man being hung from his feet and beaten?

If the worst thing done to these terrorists was that they felt like they were drowning for a minute, I'm good with that.

And you should be too or else you should be demanding that youtube take off those x rated "torture" videos.

Kentucky cops raid teenagers' field party, kill girl who tried to escape

Since we're all about cop shootings. Here is a video of a cop who shot and killed a drunk, white, teenage girl who didn't obey his command to stop.

As the story goes, the cop ended on the hood of the car and shot through the windshield with three other passengers in the car.

Like all the other shootings in the news, the grand jury failed to indict. I know this isn't a legal analysis but if I was on a grand jury, I would never indict a cop for actions against a citizen if said citizen failed to comply with reasonable instructions.

The bottom line is that Eric Garner, Michael Brown and Samantha Ramsey would all be alive today had they simply followed the cops instructions........ none of which were unreasonable

New video of Jonathan Gruber saying no state exchange means no Obamacare...

Just like us

We have a presidential candidate who hasn't driven a car since 1996.

I know you're already thinking it's probably Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush.

You would be wrong I wonder how often she's scanned her own groceries?

Why you should register as a democrat (reason #6,102 - #6,104)

Reason #6,102..... If you are a registered democrat, the media won't report on your crimes.

A former Democratic congressional aide has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing two women who were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Washington Post reports that 37-year-old Donny Ray Williams pleaded guilty Tuesday in D.C. Superior Court. Williams had served as a staff director for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee.
Both of the assaults occurred in 2010. Prosecutors say Williams invited a colleague to his apartment, where he spiked her drink with a sleep aid and raped the woman while she was asleep.
A month later, prosecutors say Williams gave a woman alcoholic beverages and had sexual contact with her when she was too drunk to consent.

Contrast that to a republican aide who made a Facebook post about the Obama kids.

who got more prime time news coverage?

Reason #6,103 ..........  the war on women doesn't apply to you. From the same article

Prosecutors plan to seek a suspended prison term and five years of supervised probation.

A suspended term for RAPE! is this a great country or not.

Reason #6,104..... When's the last time you read or heard Jon Cozine's name in the news? Compare his crime for the crime Dinesh D'Souza committed.

Hell, for that matter compare that to Terry Bean

a man who hits a female police officer

If this officer had pulled out her gun and shot this guy, would it have been "justifiable" for those who idolize Mike Brown?

Chaffetz to Johnson: "Did the President change the law?"

Now they tell us

First Chuck Schumer and now Tom Harkin............

Sen. Tom Harkin, one of the coauthors of the Affordable Care Act, now thinks Democrats may have been better off not passing it at all and holding out for a better bill.

The Iowa Democrat who chairs the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, laments the complexity of legislation the Senate passed five years ago.

He wonders in hindsight whether the law was made overly complicated to satisfy the political concerns of a few Democratic centrists who have since left Congress.

“We had the power to do it in a way that would have simplified healthcare, made it more efficient and made it less costly and we didn’t do it,” Harkin told The Hill. “So I look back and say we should have either done it the correct way or not done anything at all.

“What we did is we muddle through and we got a system that is complex, convoluted, needs probably some corrections and still rewards the insurance companies extensively,” he added.

What the hell is going on with these health care mea culpas?

A must read

Maybe one of the most cutting and insightful pieces you'll every read................

On Monday night, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch announced that Officer Darren Wilson, who is white, would not be indicted in the shooting death of black 18-year-old Michael Brown. McCulloch explained the falsehoods permeating the original media accounts of the shooting; he explained that Brown had, by all available physical and credible witness evidence, charged Wilson after attempting to take his gun from him in Wilson's vehicle.

And none of it mattered. The riots went forward as planned; the media steadfastly distributed its prewritten narrative of evil racist white cop murdering innocent young black man. President Obama stepped to the microphones to denounce American racism. He did not recapitulate the evidence; he did not condemn rioters and pledge that law enforcement would crack down on them. Instead, he said that protesters and rioters -- all of them ignoring the fact that a white police officer had not murdered an innocent black man in cold blood -- were justified in their rage.
Indeed, the president said, they had feelings. And those feelings were legitimate, all evidence to the contrary. "There are Americans who agree with it, and there are Americans who are deeply disappointed, even angry. It's an understandable reaction," Obama said. What made disappointment and anger over an evidence-based verdict "understandable"? Obama explained: "There are still problems and communities of color aren't just making these problems up. Separating that from this particular decision, there are issues in which the law too often feels as if it is being applied in a
discriminatory fashion."
The key word: feels. Obama did not cite a single instance of the law being applied in a discriminatory fashion -- because in Ferguson it was not. Instead, he made a general statement, of the sort leftists often make, that broad feelings of discontent must be inherently legitimate -- because, after all, if people feel, those feelings must have a basis.

Thoughts on the Purge - Ferguson edition

Some thoughts on the Ferguson issue

1) Many of the looted and trashed businesses in the area were owned by hard working minorities who may not have had insurance; or the deductibles were so high that they may not have the money to cover the damage. Congratulations on robbing those folks of their livelihoods.

2) How many of these "protestors" had to get up Tuesday morning for their job?

3) This why I carry and have reserve guns in all of our cars.

4) To believe that Darren Wilson should be indicted and convicted of anything, you have to believe that he went out that morning looking for fight with a black man; something that's not in his record anywhere.

5) If these "protesters" were so outraged by the white establishment, why didn't they burn down all the schools? At least the government would have to build new ones.

6) It truly disgusts me that the media spent a lot of time covering rumors and innuendo that turned out to be untrue. Do you think any of those talking heads will be apologizing to the business owners for stirring the pot that melted down their business?

7) The fact that the media continues to report the rumor and innuendo despite evidence to the contrary is exactly why will have another one of these episodes withing the next year.

8) Just think about this. None of this would have happened if a couple of dumb asses would simply have been walking on the sidewalk.

An Imperial Presidency

Let's build a time machine

I keep hearing from the Branch Gorevidians that if we simply spend the money to develop renewable energy sources it will fuel our future Utopia.

Never mind the trillions spent by private and public entities to develop this technology over the past 200 plus years. If you spend it, it will come. It's like believing that if you spend enough money you can do time travel.

Well, Google has finally gotten the hint...............

Two highly qualified Google engineers who have spent years studying and trying to improve renewable energy technology have stated quite bluntly that renewables will never permit the human race to cut CO2 emissions to the levels demanded by climate activists. Whatever the future holds, it is not a renewables-powered civilisation: such a thing is impossible.

Both men are Stanford PhDs, Ross Koningstein having trained in aerospace engineering and David Fork in applied physics. These aren't guys who fiddle about with websites or data analytics or "technology" of that sort: they are real engineers who understand difficult maths and physics, and top-bracket even among that distinguished company. The duo were employed at Google on the RE

REclosed it down
after four years. Now, Koningstein and Fork have explained the conclusions they came to after a lengthy period of applying their considerable technological expertise to renewables, in an article posted at IEEE Spectrum.
The two men write:
At the start of RE
Renewable energy technologies simply won’t work; we need a fundamentally different approach.

Obama Switches Up Stance on Executive Action

Democrats. the party of the lawless

I've been balled up all week about the Obamunists taking over DC and I've struggled with what bothers me the most about Democrats in general and Obama specifically.

Here's what I've come up with. If you are a ding dong, derelict or douche bag, you get the attention of the Obamunists. If you go to work, raise your kids, pay your bills............what the hell is wrong with you.

Take for instance...............

1) If you owe the IRS over 4 million in back taxes, are responsible for the deaths of people in NYC and tarnished the reputation of a NYPD office, you get invitations to the White House. Meet Al Sharpton.

2) If you are an accused child rapist but a good bundler for the president, you get a ride on Air Force One. Meet Terrence Bean.

3) If you desert your military post, the president will negotiate your release with money and terrorists. Meet Bowe Bergdahl. If you accidentally drive into Mexico and are wrongly incarcerated, the administration, nor our military, will pick up the telephone to call an alleged ally to get you out. Meet Andrew Tomooressi.

4) If you come into this country illegally, you get the red carpet treatment. If you followed the law, spent lots of money, time and resources to be a citizen legally. Well.......... you are just a dumbass.

Anyone catching a pattern here?

A Message From Sheriff Scott Jones

Governments never lie

This is really becoming a trend.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation has published a remarkable letter (PDF) this morning in which the Department of Justice admits its lawyer misled a panel of judges during oral arguments last month over the legality of National Security Letters, or NSLs.

To the surprise of some observers, during his rebuttal, Justice Department lawyer Douglas Letter told the three judges that recipients of NSLs could, in fact, speak about the letters in general terms. They could discuss the fact that they had received a letter and could engage in public debate about the "quality" of the NSLs they had received, he said.

But actually, they can't. Letter's statements contradicted longstanding policy, and EFF apparently asked the DOJ for clarification. The result is that DOJ has sent a note to the Clerk of Court for the 9th Circuit to correct the error, clearing up "an inadvertent misstatement by government counsel during the rebuttal portion of the argument."

Life in "Progress" City - Baltimore edition

A recent report shows that Baltimore is one of the few U.S. cities to rank in a list of the worst cities in the world for violence.

The report on Business Insider says Baltimore is number 36, with about 38 homicides per every 100,000 residents.

It is one of a handful of U.S. cities on the list, which also includes St. Louis at No. 45, New Orleans at No. 26, and Detroit at No. 24.

Now for my question.  St. Louis, New Orleans, Detroit and Baltimore are almost exclusively democratic cities. You can't find a republican there with a search warrant and Dog the Bounty Hunter.

So are these cities violent because they're democratic or are they democratic because they're so violent?

What bothers me most about liberals is that they go out of their way to protect and nurture the ding dongs, derelicts and douchebags of society and poking the eye of those people who just try to do things right from the beginning.

When it comes to the immigration debate, why aren't democrats pushing for liberalization of people trying to get into this country legally.

Instead they'll use all of their political capital to protect this piece of shit.....

An illegal immigrant driving drunk and without a license crashed through a fence Sunday, hitting and killing a 3-year-old girl as she was waiting in line for ice cream in Porterville, California.

Adolf Balbuena, 18, mowed down the toddler, Angeles Moreno, as she and several others, including an 8-year-old boy, were waiting line at an ice cream truck.

After hitting Moreno, Balbuena backed up and drove away. He was arrested at his home around an hour later, the Fresno Bee reported.

Initial reports did not state Balbuena’s immigration status, but KMPH reported on Tuesday that he is an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Though the local district attorney is handling the case, U.S.  Citizenship and Immigration Services will ultimately decide whether he will be tried in the U.S. or deported back to Mexico, the TV station reported.

Liberalism.........killing the ones you love

Read through this article and ask yourself who benefits and who gets hurt most by this policy..........

Minneapolis Public Schools are implementing a new policy aimed at eliminating the gap between the races when it comes to suspensions. Nothing will change for white students, they will still be suspended at the discretion of each school’s principal. But for minority students, specifically black, Hispanic and Native American students, the Minneapolis Schools Superintendent’s office will personally review each case.

This new policy is part of an agreement with U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights announced last week after an investigation into why minority students made up such a high percentage suspended students in the past.

Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson told NPR, “I and all of my staff will start to review all non-violent suspensions of students of color, especially black boys, to understand why they’re being suspended so we can help intervene with teachers, student leaders and help give them the targeted support they need for these students.”

In a press release announcing the new policy, which begins Monday, Johnson’s office said, “Moving forward, every suspension of a black or brown student will be reviewed by the superintendent’s leadership team. The school district aims to more deeply understand the circumstances of suspensions with the goal of providing greater supports to the school, student or family in need. This team could choose to bring in additional resources for the student, family and school.”

What's the big deal?

Kids creating distractions being readmitted into class causing further disruptions making an already difficult learning environment even more difficult for the teachers and the students who truly want to learn something; thereby putting hard working minorities at a disadvantage against kids who go to schools that don't put up with this nonsense.

Robert De Niro on Mitt Romney

This is hilarious when you weigh what Bobby says here v. what he does in real life..........

Back in 1997, Robert De Niro bought a big, ol’ farmhouse and a few dozen acres of land in the Ulster County town of Gardiner.

In the years since, he’s done what many homeowners do: He improved it. He added land, and he transformed one unused barn into a recreation center and another into a workshop. There are also two guest houses.

Then the town did what almost all towns do: It jacked up his assessment — to $6 million. The De Niro trust that owns the land is contesting the assessment.

That’s led to some perverse consequences. De Niro’s wealth gives him the wherewithal to fight even after a judge ruled against him. Under the new assessment, his property taxes come out to $170,000 a year. Problem is, the town’s already spent $150,000 in legal fees.

And even if the city wins, it will get only 11 percent of the tax revenue: 60 percent goes to the school district. So it’s already a losing financial deal for Gardiner.

De Niro has been painted as greedy, with the suggestion he should just shut up and pay up. And there is certainly an element of hypocrisy on the actor’s part.

Life in "Progress" City - Brooklyn edition

She’ll have her home back soon.

An elderly swindle victim will finally reclaim her family home thanks to a Queens judge, who on Wednesday told the ex-con who allegedly forged her deed that he has 10 days to move out.

Darrell Beatty, 49, was ordered to vacate the disputed Laurelton Tudor three-bedroom, along with his two sons and their pit bull. If he’s not gone in 10 days, the sheriff’s office will do a forced eviction.

“He’s a squatter,” Queens Housing Court Judge Inez Hoyos said in ordering Beatty to leave the property, which has been in the family of Jennifer Merin, 70, since 1931.

Beatty was in court in a failed bid to stave off eviction. Prosecutors say he filed a fraudulent deed to the home in February, claiming that he, not Merin, was the rightful owner.

You dance with who brought ya'

This headline and byline caught my eye yesterday

Why Middle-Class Americans Can't Afford to Live in Liberal Cities

Blue America has a problem: Even after adjusting for income, left-leaning metros tend to have worse income inequality and less affordable housing.

You can read the article here but let me give you the Cliff notes on the article.

This is what liberalism creates in our cities and it's probably not so much that middle income families can't afford to live there but that they won't.

Most middle class families want to live in class communities with decent schools, low crime and good employment opportunities; all things liberals won't deliver since it pinches all of their constituents.

So this is what you get.

On April 2, 2014, a protester in Oakland, California, mounted a Yahoo bus, climbed to the front of the roof, and vomited onto the top of the windshield.

If not the year's most persuasive act of dissent, it was certainly one of the most memorable demonstrations in the Bay Area, where residents have marched, blockaded, and retched in protest of San Francisco's economic inequality and unaffordable housing. The city's gaps—between rich and poor, between housing need and housing supply—have been duly catalogued. Even among American tech hubs, San Francisco stands alone with both the most expensive real estate and the fewest new construction permits per unit since 1990.

But San Francisco's problem is bigger than San Francisco. Across the country, rich, dense cities are struggling with affordable housing, to the considerable anguish of their middle class families.
Among the 100 largest U.S. metros, 63 percent of homes are "within reach" for a middle-class family, according to Trulia. But among the 20 richest U.S. metros, just 47 percent of homes are affordable, including a national low of 14 percent in San Francisco. The firm defined "within reach" as a for-sale home with a total monthly payment (including mortgage and taxes) less than 31 percent of the metro's median household income.

Who wants to deal with that shit?

I've said it before, San Fransisco spends millions upon millions of dollars on their homeless. My Redville enclave of Maineville OH doesn't spend a penny. Who has the homeless problem?

Think of it in a retail marketing realm. If you want to increase sales of Mountain Dew to young people do you spend your resources advertising on TCM and Fox News or do you spend money on MTV and maybe an internet campaign?

Liberals want to go to dinner parties held by the uber rich while maintaining the facade of helping the poor. Is it any wonder that's what their cities look like?

Ask Maxine Waters

Those racist, sexist, xenophobe, homophobe republicans

Tim Scott, a black man, wins South Carolina in a rout. I guess all those cross burning tea partiers were too tired to vote against him. BTW Scott got more votes than Mr. Milquetoast Lindsay Graham. How the hell did that happen.

Mia Love, wins in Utah. Jesus, those conservative Mormans must have thought the election was next week.

They're sexist when.........

Moore Capito in WV and Ernst in Iowa won. Couldn't their misogynistic, neanderthal husbands keep them chained in the kitchen?

They're anti Hispanic Xenophobes when.............

Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are kicking ass in the senate and look to be contenders for the GOP nomination two years from now. Is it the Dream Act that keeps the GOP from deporting them?

They're homophobes when..........

Carl DeMaio, an openly gay republican wins. Maybe they're hoping for some gender re-identification.

If you were to listen to the major networks, you would probably believe that all of us white guys would be spending the morning having our traditional victory breakfast at your local country club where we discuss such topics as how we can use our power to hold down blacks, how we can keep our bitches in line, and how we can deport more Hispanics.

Do you think all this might shift that media paradigm? Maybe Chuck Todd might push back when a democrat claims a "war on women", "a war on immigrants" "a war on blacks", "a war on gays"

Don't hold your breath.

And now we see what Obamacare has brought us...........

When ObamaCare patients learn their deductible is so high they’re unlikely to get any reimbursement, they often wind up in places like the Denton, Texas Community Care Center.

"There are quite a few, and I saw another one today, where their deductibles are so elevated that they can't afford them," said Dr. Flippo Masciarelli, chief physician at the center, which was designed to treat indigent patients.

Robert Laszewski of Health Policy and Strategy Associates noted, "You're going to the doctor, you're paying (a) premium, and because of this really high deductible, you're not getting any benefits."

The administration pushed insurance companies to keep premiums low, but that also created high deductibles, about $5,000 per person for the least expensive plan, as well as narrow networks of providers.

But most people buy based only on premiums.

Do the Mule

I'm still recovering from last Friday nights Gov't Mule concert at the Taft Theatre.

I've often heard about Springsteen, Gratefull Dead, Allman Brothers shows last near 4 hours.

I've never been to a show that last five, I said five freakin' hours long.

Here's the set list for the Mule show last Friday. 37 songs long.

The show had a tribute to Neil Young. Thankfully I like Neil Young since 29 of the songs were his.

Of course, we then followed up that marathon with a show last night with Zach Deputy and Hot Buttered Rum.

It's gonna take me all week to recover.

Why you should register as a democrat

As I noted in a previous post over the weekend. What do you think is the likelihood of a hardcore postal worker delivering your ballot right into a trash dumpster?

After you read this we'll set the over/under at 90%.

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night may keep postal carriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. But partisan politics, now that may be another matter altogether.

An investigation has been launched into a Neenah postal carrier who allegedly dumped into a recycling bin hundreds of political advertisement mailers from the campaign of Mike Rorhkaste,
Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 55th Assembly District, Rorhkaste tells Wisconsin Reporter.
Neenah Postmaster Brian Smoot, who was alerted to the incident on Thursday, confirmed there is an ongoing investigation into the matter, and referred Wisconsin Reporter to the Office of the Inspector General for the U.S. Postal Service. OIG representatives there did not return several phone calls seeking comment.
“I am not allowed to comment because it is an active investigation,” Smoot said of accusations that the unidentified mail carrier mishandled the political literature.

Why everyone should be a registered democrat

I just witnessed this headline..........

EARLY VOTING: REPUBLICANS HAVE 10% LEAD

He's my suggestion to every republican out there.

Register as a democrat.

Let's have 100% of all voters registered as a democrat.

I am and I'll tell you why.

1)  If everyone is registered within the same party, states cannot gerrymander congressional districts. The gerrymandering that gives us John Boehner, Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi.

2) Voter manipulation will be less frequent since get out the vote efforts won't be able to distinguish between parties.

3) Polling will be rendered useless if everyone is registered in one party.

4) Think about it. Currently a party can canvass an area they know is heavily democratic and threaten their voters like this veiled threat. During the last presidential election, I had forgotten to sign my ballot and it was sent back for my signature. After it sat on my desk for over a week, I received a call from Sherrod Brown's office, informing me that I needed to sign my ballot and send it in.

I was hopping pissed that a campaign would have access to a) knowledge that my ballot was an absentee b) knowledge as to what was actually wrong with my absentee ballot.

It's total bullshit.

5) You don't think that if the democrats have a list of republican voters, they wouldn't pay some unscrupulous postal worker some money to hand over the absentee ballots to the party so they could pull the republican ballots. It's probably already happened. If you are a registered democrat there's a better likelihood that your vote will be counted.

Sure you probably lose the ability to vote in a republican primary pitting UR A. Loser v. Seymour Butts. But let's face it, isn't it more fun to vote in a democratic primary anyway.

So do your civic duty and change your party affiliation today.

Mother of son killed by illegal: Obama is ignoring us

Pot meet Kettle

After all........who knows better about income disparity than someone out to screw a working guy for his commission........

MSNBC's Donny Deusch has been found guilty by a Manhattan judge of scamming a real estate broker out of a commission.

The judge found that the broker, Edward Petrie, was responsible for finding a buyer for Deutsch's $30 million home in the Hamptons. After Deutsch discovered he knew the buyer, LA hedge funder Howard Marks, MSNBC's Occupy Wall Street cheerleader went behind the broker's back to privately broker the sale and stiff the Sotheby's realtor out of his fee.
The New York Post reports that the judge blasted Deutsch for his "dishonesty and greed":
“This court considers that and refusal to acknowledge [Petrie] as the broker to be marks of dishonesty and greed,” Ramos writes in the Oct. 23 decision awarding Petrie’s employer, Sotheby’s, $1.2 million.“Both characteristics are particularly unbecoming when exhibited by those blessed with great wealth,” the judge scolds.
By some reports MSNBC's Donny Deutsch is worth upwards of $200 million. What isn't in dispute is that the left-wing multi-millionaire publicly embraced Occupy Wall Street and frequently uses his perch at MSNBC to criticize income inequality.
How interesting, then, that when Deutsch had a legal obligation (and opportunity) to transfer less than 1% of his own wealth, he instead chose to cheat and lie.

The war on women

I would think that this would count............

Barely a week after being named the 17th richest member of Congress, liberal firebrand and Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson is refusing to support his estranged wife and their kids, and his wife has turned to government food stamps to support her family, WFTV 9 Orlando reports.

Grayson’s marriage of 29 years dissolved earlier this year when his wife, Lolita Grayson, filed for divorce. A week later, Rep. Grayson asked a court to annul the marriage on the basis of bigamy.

Mr. Grayson is refusing to support his family because he is claiming that she was never divorced from her first husband and therefore their marriage was never legitimate.

Mrs. Grayson told WFTV 9 Orlando she never thought she would be on food stamps or have her kids on the school lunch, because her husband was “the sole provider,” she said. “I don’t have any money at all. He’s been holding all our money for years and years.”

For some reason, if Mitt Romney didn't want to pay for her birth control, he'd be a misogynist.

Who did she vote for? #191

So in the last election to this icon of diversity vote for Obama or Romney?

.............don't know much about the economy

Twenty years from now, will liberals be asking "what ever happened to the jobs where people pumped your gas, bagged your groceries, took your order at McDonald's............."

While fast food workers all over the country are fighting to get paid higher hourly wages, McDonald’s is apparently looking for a bigger solution to their problem.

Various outlets are reporting that McDonald’s is currently testing automated cashiers in the hopes that they will soon roll out all over the country. The machines are touch screen and will enable customer to order and pay for their food without having to wait in line and interact with a live cashier.

Similar machines are already being used in Europe, and now, the automated cashier is being tested at a store in Romeoville, Illinois, according to reports and one Reddit user.

Ask yourself the question, does raising the minimum wage increase the likelihood these machines will be in place?

Liberals........ don't know much about history

It really hasn't been that long ago when the housing market crashed into oblivion because people were lending money to other people who were not ready to buy homes.

But hey, let's not less a valuable history lesson get in the way of liberal nobility.

America needs more low-down-payment loans.

That seems to be the opinion of our government, anyway. The government agencies that drive most of the housing market are pushing for lower down-payment standards on mortgages, easing the 20 percent requirement that has become standard for much of the market.

The Center for American Progress approves: “We shouldn’t obsess about down payments,” said Julia Gordon, director of housing policy. “Research confirms that low-down-payment loans to lower-wealth borrowers perform very well if the mortgages are well-underwritten, safe and sustainable.”

This depends, of course, on what you think “perform very well” means. A low-down-payment loan made to someone with a good credit rating and a low debt-to-income ratio will perform better than a low-down-payment loan made to someone with terrible credit and a lot of debt. But it has a higher default risk than a mortgage made to a similar borrower with an adequate down payment, because when you start out with little equity, you’re apt to find yourself in foreclosure if you get into financial trouble.

One of the principle problems with liberalism is that liberals often fail to connect causation with results.

I tell clients all the time, even though the wealthiest people own their homes, home ownership is not why they are wealthy. Home ownership is a symptom of the things that do create wealth........... time and stability.

This year, I have spent over two thousand dollars on minor repairs, lawn mowers and tools, landscaping, and other projects around my house that will never turn into increased market value. This is money that a person would never spend if they rented.

When most people sell their house, they think "I bought if for X and sold it for Y, hence my profit is Z". But they never calculate the $8000 roof they put on or the $4,000 driveway repair, or the $2,500 hardwood floor they installed into the calculation.

Again, all things that a renter would never have to spend money on.

But liberals would have you believe that as long as you can own a home, your three divorces, four job changes and a felony conviction won't matter, cause you'll be rich.

So let's go ahead and repeat the history that nearly brought our economy to a total collapse.

DNC Chair Stumbles When Asked To Name A Senate Race Obama Is Campaigning In

the real war on women

Lena Dunham would have you believe that if conservative men do buy women birth control, deliver it to their houses, put it on the tongue and stroke their throats for easy swallowing, they must hate women. Watch this video and ask the question, When democrats release a flood of felons who are they most likely to victimize?

Lies, Inc. - Felons released

New records contradict the Obama administration's assurances to Congress and the public that the 2,200 people it freed from immigration jails last year to save money had only minor criminal records.

The records, obtained by USA TODAY, show immigration officials released some undocumented immigrants who had faced far more serious criminal charges, including people charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, drug trafficking and homicide.

The release sparked a furor in Congress. Republican lawmakers accused the Obama administration of setting dangerous criminals free. In response, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it had released "low-risk offenders who do not have serious criminal records," a claim the administration repeated to the public and to members of Congress.

The new records, including spreadsheets and hundreds of pages of e-mails, offer the most detailed information yet about the people ICE freed as it prepared for steep, across-the-government spending cuts in February 2013. They show that although two-thirds of the people who were freed had no criminal records, several had been arrested or convicted on charges more severe than the administration had disclosed.

Lies, Inc. - Global Warming

John Coleman, who co-founded the Weather Channel, shocked academics by insisting the theory of man-made climate change was no longer scientifically credible.

Instead, what 'little evidence' there is for rising global temperatures points to a 'natural phenomenon' within a developing eco-system.

In an open letter attacking the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he wrote: "The ocean is not rising significantly.

"The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number.

"Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing).

"I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid."

Lies, Inc. - unemployment data

The city known as America’s story factory is making up Census data.
In the latest allegation of The Post’s exclusive probe into fishy goings-on at the Census Bureau, a new whistleblower says workers in the Los Angeles region have been manipulating economic data.
Contact information for the veteran Census worker — who reached out to me by e-mail recently and whom I interviewed by phone — has been turned over to congressional investigators who are looking into data falsification in other parts of the country.
“Everybody knows falsification is going on,” the whistleblower told me, adding the malfeasance in the LA region is so obvious that it’s hard to miss.
She said she’s coming forward now because she “applauds” the others who have spoken up already.
Census employees have blown the whistle on the Denver and Philadelphia regions. A Denver whistleblower recently turned over information to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

The real public health scare

Getting lost in the ebola scare is the true public health threat enterovirus D68.

Is it a coincidence that this is showing up right after the immigration invasion and subsequent placement of these immigrants across the country?

Once again, Sharyl Atkisson is the only journalist with the fortitude to ask the question............

At least five children infected with the respiratory illness known enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) have died in the U.S. in the past month.
The lastest confirmed victim was a four-year-old New Jersey boy, Eli Waller. He died at home on September 25. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) confirmed the cause of death Friday night. But health officials say they have no idea how he contracted the virus. A health official says Eli was “asymptomatic and fine” when he went to bed but died overnight. He had no known preexisting immune weakness.
CDC Overview of EV-D68
A 10-year girl Rhode Island girl infected with EV-D68, Emily Otrando, died less than 24 hours after being rushed to the hospital with breathing problems. Three other patients with EV-D68 also died in September.
The CDC reports that in the past month and a half, at least 538 people in 43 states and the District of Columbia have become ill with EV-D68. Most of them are children and some developed limb paralysis. Polio, which can cause paralysis and death, is a type of enterovirus. EV-D68 is one of more than a hundred “non-polio” enteroviruses.

Why would anyone believe the administration on the Ebola scare?

Just take these examples of administration lying.........

On student loans........
Eager to broadcast some good news approaching the midterm elections, the Obama administration recently announced a welcome dip in student loan defaults, from 14.7 percent for the 2010 cohort (loans taken out in that year) to 13.7 percent for 2011. Policymakers, alarmed about how our trillion-dollar student loan burden and soaring default rates are undermining our economic growth, cheered the report.
Unfortunately, it turns out the numbers are bogus.
In keeping with a White House that talks a good game on transparency but that is cloaked in secrecy, the Department of Education moved the goalposts at the last minute, changing how the default rates were calculated and thus sparing some colleges from tough penalties. It has so far refused to say which schools were given a reprieve, though it appears likely that black colleges were the major beneficiaries.

Or unemployment

A field supervisor in the Census Bureau’s Denver region has informed her organization’s higher-ups, the head of the Commerce Department and congressional investigators that she believes economic data collected by her office is being falsified.
And this whistleblower — who asked that I not identify her — said her bosses in Denver ignored her warnings even after she provided details of wrongdoing by three different survey takers. The three continued to collect data even after she reported them.
When I spoke with this whistleblower earlier this year as part of my investigation of Census, she told me that hundreds of interviews that go into the Labor Department’s unemployment rate and inflation surveys would miraculously be completed just hours before deadline.

Or the prostitution scandal

The lead investigator into the Secret Service prostitution scandal told Senate staffers that he was directed to delay the release of the report until after the 2012 election, according to a published report.
According to The Washington Post, David Nieland also said that he was instructed by his superiors in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) inspector general's office to "withhold and alter certain information in the report of investigation because it was potentially embarrassing to the administration." He likely gave the account to aides on the Senate homeland security committee, which had looked into the case.
The Post also reported that senior White House aides were given information suggesting that a prostitute had stayed in the hotel room of a member of the White House's advance team, contrary to earlier denials that any member of the administration was involved.

Don't They Deserve the Dream?

The only journalist in America on the job

In my humble opinion, you can count the number of "journalists", media people willing to push back on the company line, on one hand...... Jake Tapper, Jon Karl, Ed Henry and that's about it.

Only one journalist is actually investigating anything. Sharyl Atkisson and she's getting dirty on the autism/vaccine story that no one will touch.

A former Centers for Disease Control (CDC) researcher, best known for his frequently-cited studies dispelling a link between vaccines and autism, is still considered on the lam after allegedly using CDC grants of tax dollars to buy a house and cars for himself.

Paul Thorson listed as a most-wanted fugitive by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, was discredited in April 2011 when he was indicted on 13 counts of wire fraud and nine counts of money laundering. Some have argued that his alleged fraudulent behavior calls into question the validity of his studies. There is no indication the studies have been retracted to date.

According to the HHS Inspector General, “From approximately February 2004 until February 2010, Poul Thorsen executed a scheme to steal grant money awarded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”

CDC employed Thorsen as a visiting scientist from Denmark prior to awarding grants to Denmark to fund “research involving the relationship between autism and the exposure to vaccines” and other disabilities. Thorsen is accused of diverting over $1 million of CDC grant money, public funds, for his personal use.

“Thorsen submitted fraudulent invoices on CDC letterhead to medical facilities assisting in the research for reimbursement of work allegedly covered by the grants. “–HHS IG
Thorsen co-authored studies in the New England Journal of Medicine and Pediatrics concluding there is no link between autism and thimerosal used in vaccines nor between autism and the MMR vaccine.

The findings were consistent with the public messaging of his CDC grantor and of CDC director Julie Gerberding who went on to become president of Merck vaccines, heading up its $5 billion global vaccine market. Other peer-reviewed, published studies have found links between vaccines and autism, and the government secretly conceded a case of autism after its leading medical expert concluded the child’s multiple vaccinations caused brain injuries that resulted in her autism.

The war on working people

Democrats are all about the poor working guy..................except when they're not.

In March 2011, Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu disregarded a union strike to cross a noisy picket line and give a speech to a business association that donated to her campaign, The Daily Caller has learned.
While members of the local chapter of the national Unite Here! union were in the middle of a cold, two-month outdoor protest against Madison Hotel’s policies, the senator and her staff drove into the hotel in a black SUV. (RELATED: Republicans Could Win Louisiana Outright… With A Tweak)
“I was standing on the sidewalk as her sedan was driven into the garage-like area of the hotel,” a conference attendee told TheDC. “I saw her look right at the protesters as she drove in. They were so loud and created such a presence that no one in a two block area could have missed them.”

What's with our president?

Jim Geraghty has a piece on his blog "What is with the president?" analyzing how it is this administration continues to make blunder after blunder on White House communications.

Let me add some things to this list.

1) This guy is freakin' lazy. Let's face it. He's never had a real job in his life so I'm sure that having staffer after staffer waiting on you to make decisions becomes wearing.

2) Voting present isn't an option when you president. Real jobs mean making real decisions; often tough decisions. Not making a decision is a decision in and of itself. This guy thinks that not doing anything in the Middle East means that things will work themselves out. We can now see results of "leading from behind".

3) Because this guy has never had a real job, he really does not understand what an executive is called to do. Seriously, this guy thinks that an executive just shows up to rally the worker bees and then he's free to hit the golf course.

Years ago, I had a client who would just be AWOL during the day leaving her staff to make really important decisions without her. Then she would ream them out for not consulting her when they made a decision she didn't like. I told her that being a business owner was more than a name on a business card. I wasn't her accountant after that day and she's no longer in business today. Go figure.

4) He's intellectually inflexible. Part of being a liberal is adhering to the orthodoxy even in the face of abject failure. ie they still want to confront global warming despite the fact that there hasn't been any warming in the past 18 years yet no one can really explain why; let's be nice to terrorists and they'll leave us alone etc.....

5) He's doesn't want his name on anything so went the shit hits the fan he's got a scapegoat.

Back in the day when I worked in banking, my department head asked me to rewrite some inane memo. When I asked him what he wanted in or out of the memo he gave me a whole line of fluffy bullshit that didn't mean anything. I told him if he wanted it changed he could edit what he wanted.

It pissed him off because he really didn't want to be associated with the memo. I concluded that he wanted me to be the fall guy when the shit started flying.

If you have any other reasons why these guys are truly the JV team email them to me at gtvcpa@yahoo.com and I'll post them.

I couldn't agree more.

Megyn Kelly GRILLS Jen Psaki On Leon Panetta's Withdrawing Troops From I...

Back to the future

Remember the good old days when liberals decried the use of paper bags to bag your groceries because some giant Sequoia in California had to die to make it.

In the perpetual liberal whining about all things commercial, plastic now sucks.

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home.
Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Tuesday signed into law a ban on single-use plastic bags, making California the first state to prohibit stores from using the ubiquitous carry-alls. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use.
“This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press releaseannouncing his approval. “It reduces the torrent of plastic polluting our beaches, parks and even the vast ocean itself.”
It is also a step toward what is likely to be an expensive electoral fight pitting the plastics industry against environmentalists who support the ban. The American Progressive Bag Alliance, an industry group of plastics producers, said Tuesday it will mount a campaign to collect enough signatures to put an initiative repealing the measure on the ballot in 2016.

Here's the dirty little secret about canvas bags. They create a larger carbon footprint than plastics.
None the less, I'm convinced that liberals will always create something to whine about .
