Congratulations Brannon Kidder

During my time in Lancaster Ohio, our track teams were like the Yankees of Ohio track and field.

My best high school 800 time would have won me some collegiate D-3 or D-2 national titles and yet I was just another guy on the team back then.

We had studs like John Zishka, Clark Haley, Dave Agosta, Barry Walker on our teams that won a state championship in 1980.

Later came another wave of guys; my brother Dave Valentine and Doug Conroy.

Last weekend, flashes of Lancaster glory return when Brannon Kidder won the 1600 and 800 meter runs in the Boys D-1 state championship.

In addition, he anchored a winning 4x800 relay on Friday.

Congratulations to Brannon, thanks for letting me crank up Glory Days on my 8 track player.
