Sales Tax Hike

Hamilton County approved a sales tax hike for construction of a new jail.

Once again, courts and jails are the first priority of county government. Why didn't they move the debt service for said jail to the top of the list and vote on money for the HCJFS?

Somehow, the surrounding counties are able to provide for jails and all this other stuff for 1/2% less than this county does.

Once again, the people have spoken, and our duly elected leaders will obey that voice.

When revenues drop off because folks go to neighboring counties to but stuff, I suppose we will have to put a property tax on the ballot. When it's defeated, we will enact anyway. (Because it's needed.)

When government acts in direct defiance of the people.....
