The Bengals will always be losers

Subsequent to my post on why the Bengals will always stink, the team lost Eric Steinback and it looks like they will be losing Kevin Kasevaharn through free agency and they cut Brian Simmons.

But at least they replaced them through free agency, right. oops, I guess they haven't.

This team was 8-8 last year, to improve you must gain more quality than you lose.

Well at least they be able to use the draft to replace what's lost right?

Here' a look at the draft picks since Marvin took over the team. The guys in bold have made some contributions to the team but you'll notice that three of those will be lost to injury, drugs or free agency.
So with the current draft history the Bengals can look forward to getting about four draft picks make a contribution to the team. That barely covers the three they lost.

But Gordon, they're almost at the cap limit. Yeah but they could have used some of their cap money from last year to lock up Justin Smith but instead franchised him which is putting a squeeze on this year's team.

If you are going to make draft picks the way you build your team you have to have more than a former high school coach run your drafts but the Bengals want it both ways which is why they will always be losers.
