The Clue Phone is Ringing... Is Ohio Listening

To the side is a graph reported in the Wall Street Journal showing the Michigan income as compared to the national average.

You can see the nice trend downward. As a result of the decline in personal incomes the state's income tax receipts continue to decline.

What do you do to turn things around? Well if you are Jennifer Granholm, Governor of the state of Michigan, you slap on an extra billion dollar tax burden on businesses.

Does it work? Well ask Comerica, who decided this week to relocate it's corporate headquarters and lots of nice paying jobs to Texas; which, by the way, has no state income tax.

Now the state will have even less revenue coming in so they'll increase taxes even more which starts a cycle not even those nice Jeff Bridges ads will pull them out of.

Governor Strickland, are you listening? Or will you pull a Bob Taft and follow suit so that the only sounds we'll be hearing will be Woody Harrelson spouting all the virtues of doing business in Ohio.
