A 15-year-old wanted in connection with a Tuesday night shooting at a crowded park has been arrested, Cincinnati police said.A 17-year-old was shot in the head at about 7:25 p.m. near Price and Hawthorne avenues. Both boys knew each other, said Sgt. Joe Richardson of the Cincinnati police. They went to West Hills High School and got into a fistfight about two weeks ago.
“The shooter lost the fistfight and came back with a gun to get even,” he said. “He rode up on the bike, fired one shot and hit (the victim) in the head.”
After the incident, police were tracking the suspect on a red BMX bicycle. They found the bike in the 900 block of Wells Street, where the suspect was allegedly living. A SWAT team was sent into the house, but he wasn’t there. On Wednesday afternoon, officers found him.
Police officers took the teen into custody without any trouble. He was arrested on one count of felonious assault and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
Tuesday’s shooting happened near Dempsey Park and Playground, which was full of people at the time. A youth baseball game was being played in the park, which could have created a very dangerous situation, Richardson said.
Now Monday night, the Gekko's took their nieces to soccer practice out here in Redville. To my knowledge no one had to worry about getting shot.
What's so "Progressive" about about park shootings?
