Life in "Progress" County - Cook County edition

Police, fire & roads.......... money spent by municipalities on anything else is a waste of taxpayer resources.

But instead, what you get in "progressive" counties is a lack of police, fire and roads...........

Squeezed by budget cuts, several suburban police departments have talked with Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart’s office about policing their towns — but Cook County Board members say those law enforcement agencies would have to cover the costs and get county board approval.

“We don’t have the resources to take on another police department,” said Commissioner Peter Silvestri, a Northwest Side and suburban Republican.

He sponsored the resolution approved today that calls for municipalities to pay for the sheriff to come in and take over primary policing duties, including patrols.

Here's the deal. These citizens already pay for these resources.

Holding your residents hostage to pay for services their supposed top be getting already?

Now that's "progressive"!
