California closes down

They called it paradise
The place to be
They watched the hazy sun
Sinking in the sea.

If a government worker takes the day off and no one notices......
California drivers who needed to renew their licenses or registration found no one to help Friday at the Department of Motor Vehicles. The doors to the state health agency were locked, too.

Even Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s emergency services office was dark.

Hundreds of state offices closed because there was nobody to run them: More than 200,000 state employees had to take the day off Friday without pay to help ease California’s budget crisis.

Schwarzenegger ordered employees to take two unpaid days off a month, hoping to save the state $1.3 billion through June 2010, when the mass furloughs are expected to end.

OK libs. You want us to be more like France? HERE...YOU...GO! The CA government ordering basically a 35 hour work week. If I start to hear whining in the media about how people aren't getting the govt services they need just realize this is socialism 101. This is what happens when you put govt in charge of important things.

If California were a private enterprise they would have been run out of business in 1978. Then replaced by a competitor who would do the job right under budget.

Instead what they got was a bloated monster that has tried to destroy every business inside the state except government and porn. They simply raised budgets and raised taxes unchecked for 30 years. The biggest sin is that it is a very liberal state, so the media has given a pass to this malfeasance and labelled it progressivism.

All the media cheerleading in the world cannot hide this financial embarrassment. It will come crashing down. If not tomorrow then a year from now, or 5 years. And like the "big one" earthquake they expect some day, the longer before the collapse, the harder the collapse will be.

And I'm afraid, as Califonia goes, so does the America.
