A Bolivar city councilwoman who helped others vote illegally has lost her own right to vote and to run for office.The Jackson Sun reports that Brenda Woods was running for council and mayor in 2009 when she helped people to vote who were not eligible because of felony convictions.
The city is waiting for a legal opinion on whether Woods can continue to serve on the council if she is not sent to prison at her Nov. 19 sentencing.
