The conventional wisdom has it that William "Cold Cash" Jefferson was stashing a hundred grand in his freezer because it was bribe money.
Maybe his buddy, Barney Frank, let him know Fannie Mae was on the verge of collapse and he was just trying to keep his 401k savings safe.
