As congress and our liberal President Bush decide on an economic bailout package for the auto industry, a thought occurred to me. It seems like the principle issue for automakers is the lack of car sales.
If we give them billions and billions, it doesn't solve the fundamental problem of week auto sales.
Wouldn't it just make a lot more sense to offer a tax credit to people and encourage them to buy automobiles?
But then again, we're talking about liberals with the intelligence of Sharon Stone who thinks botox injections for her son is an appropriate treatment for smelly feet.

Nope. Because we both know Americans would take that money and buy a Camry.
Giving it directly to the auto companies is the only way to force us (the tax payer) to buy the shit (GM cars) that we would not buy otherwise.
Baically this $25 billion bailout, to be financed by the Chinese, is putting the past 30 years of poorly built cars (already built and junked) on the credit card of kids that haven't even been born yet. With the dems in power this will be described as political courage by the adoring media.
Another idea I thought was good was to repeal the sales tax on autos for a spell.
