Not bad for a part time job

From the Queen City of Cincinnati, who hasn't had a conservative run the city since Noah went canoeing.....
There are at least 10 people at Cincinnati City Hall whose salaries have not yet been touched by cuts to make up for the city's $28 million deficit: The mayor and city council members.

Their paychecks - $60,646 a year to council members and twice that to Mayor Mark Mallory - are set by state law. So while the city administration and non-union workers have started getting reduced paychecks and almost 300 employees face layoffs next month, council members' pocketbooks have not yet been affected.

Because their salaries are set by state law, council members could not be assigned the same six unpaid days assigned to all non-union employees, city lawyers advised them. So to take the same hit as the others, the elected officials would have to proactively give money back to the city.

Not bad for a part time job.

What's so "progressive" about municipal bankruptcy?
