Let's assume John and Jane Rich made $250,000 (no kids) last year.
Because they are in the top 2% of all wage earners in the US, they have a huge home and paid $30,000 in mortgage interest and $8,000 in real estate tax. Since they are rich, we can assume they don't care about the little guy and gave no money to charity.
The question, what did couple pay in 2007 federal income taxes?
For you progressives that don't think the rich pay their fair share, what should be that number be?
