When John McCain alludes to Barack Obama’s “eloquent but empty” rhetoric he is wisely acknowledging what’s abundantly clear to everyone else, i.e., that this oratorical phenom is the most dynamic speaker to hit the public domain since Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was gunned down nearly 40 years ago.
But he is also wise to imply there might be a vacuum beneath that veneer.
No one, not even the most virulent rednecks, would have suggested King’s elocution was barren, no matter how much they reviled him. Indeed, it was his effectiveness in articulating and advancing his beliefs that most enraged them.
The point of the article? Obamamania needs more than flowery rhetoric to win the presidency.
My question? Why?
Apparently, all those really smart "progressives" are willing to vote for a guy who's eloquent but offers nothing substantive in terms policy initiatives. Who are the rest of us to argue?
I was so lovin' the thought of The Billary beat down in November but I think it's going to be so wonderful watching all these Kool Aid drinkers switch to cyanide come autumn.
