Another "progressive" city in ruins

You can't find a republican in the city of Milwaukee with a pack of blood hounds (Kerry over Bush 72-27); the city has been ruled by democrats for decades.

Well how have the "progressives" handled the city to date....

Excerpt

Today, Milwaukee mirrors the grim statistics on deepening poverty and racial inequality outlined in a new report that updates the Kerner Commission's findings, said a researcher who worked on the anniversary report.

"Unfortunately, it strikes me that Milwaukee continues to be a leader in so many unfortunate measures, such as unemployment, mortgage rates, incarceration and segregation," said Gregory D. Squires, chairman of the sociology department at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Middle-income Milwaukee neighborhoods declined in number, he said, while wealthy and poor neighborhoods increased. In 1970, the city had 11 census tracts in which 40% or more of the residents were poor, but by 2000, that had jumped to 43 census tracts.

According to U.S. Census figures, Milwaukee's poverty rate now ranks in the top 10 cities, and 1 out of 3 children in Milwaukee Public Schools is living in poverty.

So if you are trying to fix the problems in the city of Milwaukee what do you do?

If you're a "progressive" you come up with one of those new and original ideas to fix the problem; like a tax increase to fund more social programs.

All you "progressives" have been bitching about the Iraq War now for three years. When are you going to start addressing your war on poverty that we've spent trillions on over the past forty years and guess what? We still have poverty!

People always talk about republican politicians being disconnected from the middle class. Yet can anyone site a more prominent example of a disconnect that liberals and how an economy works? They say they need more money for their programs but they do everything possible to drive quality money away.

I can't believe, with all their ivy league type degrees, that liberals continue to be so incredibly stupid. I'm usually not this blunt but come on libs! Human Nature 101: If you penalize successful people, successful people will move. If you subsidize failure, failures will beat a path to your door. This is a pattern that has played out year-after-year-after-year since the 60's. Yet the response from libs is not to change course, but to increase the magnitude of the "solution".

What's the definition of insanity? Repetition of the same destructive behavior over and over, each time expecting a different result.

America's inner city governments have become the equivalent of a heroin addict: Lying on the couch, needing it's daily fix of cash to make it through the day. Not getting a job to feed its own family, instead robbing local businesses for the next fix, getting angry with them because they don't have more to steal, and because they keep mopving out.

Meanwhile, the real tragedy deepens: Citizens below the poverty line who now depend on their heroin junkie liberal parent for survival, are left on the street to starve with no real economy left to earn for themselves.

The scene plays out over and over and over again. Liberal response: We need more, more, more of this!!!!

Unbelieveable! Libs should be ashamed of themselves.

Gordon: You must know that I actually love your "progressive" posts. The previous "left-wing liberal weenies" comment was in complete jest. Like progressives. They are all jokes.

Thanks I appreciate the compliment.

I did the post more for anyone jumping in on my assault on use of the word "progressive" because I'm sure many people have gotten sick of it. Much like I've gotten sick of the progressive ruination of our world.
