You may say, it's not the city's fault, they're trying to get rid of the guy. Except this is the same city that negotiated a contract where you can't get rid a non performing cop if you had video of him shooting a grandmother.A Cincinnati police supervisor, fired for allowing officers to goof off, got his job back this week.
Sgt. Eric Schneider’s dismissal was reduced to a 20-day suspension as part of a settlement between city officials and lawyers for the Fraternal Order of Police. He returned to work June 1.
It’s the second time in five years Schneider has been fired and then re-hired by the Cincinnati Police Department.
The first firing came in 2003 when his supervisors accused him of filing false time sheets that charged the city $2,200 for hours he didn’t work. He was acquitted of criminal charges and reinstated in a settlement with the city.
City officials say the latest settlement came after they became concerned they would lose if Schneider’s appeal of his firing went before a labor arbitrator.
Remind me again, why people have been leaving the suburbs in droves to the sanctity of "Redville".
