"Afghans are responsible for their own security," Mr. Obama said. "We have to get Pakistan involved in a more effective way. There is a range of things we have to do at this point; it's fine-tuning a strategy that we can be confident we'll be successful. I think that Gen. (Stanley) McChrystal shares the same goal I do, for us to protect homeland, protect our allies and U.S. interests around the world."
Let me remind The Messiah and the media mental midgets as to why we're in Afghanistan.
We're not there to nation build like Iraq.
We're not there to see that Pakistan makes nice with their nukes.
We're not there to deliver pizzas to Karzai and Co.
We are there to hunt and kill an enemy that high jacked four airliners and flew them into buildings killing thousands. While a stable and effective Afghan government is helpful, it is actually a non sequitor. Hunting and killing Osama bin Laden and his henchmen has nothing to do with what the Afghans and Pakistanis can help us with.
The fact that the Obamunists are worried about corruption in Karzai's government is laughable.
Our leaders have to own the fact that these governments might be perpetually inept and ineffective to hunt down Al Queda. Where does that leave us? If we leave, bin Laden & Co. will still be hanging around planning the next attack.
When these guys get a clue, call me.
