That ain't no way to treat a union, no way

Hey we're talking about the democratic manifesto here; the NY Times.....

The New York Times [NYT] Company has threatened to shut down the Boston Globe if the paper doesn’t come up with $20 million in cuts within 30 days in a dramatic act of brinksmanship at the beleaguered broadsheet.

The new draconian demands come just days after the latest round of layoffs at the Globe.

A boston.com report and two sources with direct knowledge said the Globe’s out-of-town corporate masters have presented the unions with a stark and painful choice: Agree to massive cuts within a month or face closure.

According to this, the NYT is $1B in debt. You have to try to screw up in order to blow it that bad.

What's the problem? All they should have to do is double their subscription rate. If that's not enough, triple it. Then increase advertising rates. Then have their masters in the democratic party pass a law requiring every man woman and child in the country to buy a subscription, and publicly subsidize those who can't afford it. Socialist ECON 101.
