Living with the demagoguery of democrats would be tolerable if the media would just call out the hypocrisy every once in a while........

For example, African-American staffers on Democratic campaigns were paid 70 cents for each dollar their white counterparts made. For Hispanic staffers in Democratic campaigns, the figure was 68 cents on the dollar. 

And a recent study by PowerPAC+, funded by a major Democratic donor, revealed that less than 2 percent of spending by Democratic campaign committees during the past two election cycles went to firms owned by minorities.  

Political operative Michael Gomez Daly worked on two congressional campaigns in 2012 with similar budgets. On one campaign, Daly, who describes himself as “a very light-skinned Hispanic,” was brought in as a field director, primarily for his skills as a Latino operative who could reach out to the Hispanic community. On the second campaign, where they did not know he was Hispanic, “I just came in as ‘Michael Daly,’ instead of ‘that Latino operative,’” he said. “Right off the bat they offered me twice the amount for the same job.”

Protecting illegals costs American lives

Dickinson police say an officer tried to pull over a Dodge Durango for a traffic violation. When the officer turned on his emergency lights, the driver sped off, reaching 100 miles per hour. About 1.3 miles later, the suspect disregarded a stop sign and struck a Honda Accord that was headed eastbound on FM 646. The impact so intense, the Honda Accord was pushed into a ditch and knocked down power lines. 

The driver involved in a police chase that ended in a fatal crash was identified as 23-year-old Juan Garcia Ahuezoteco.

There were four people in the Honda Accord, Rafael Guerrero, 41, Alejandra Guerrero, 38, Gilberto Ortega Jr., 25, and a 15-year-old teenage boy. All four died on scene. Family members say the boy was the son of the Guerrero.

So why was Ahuezoteco so eager to flee the police?

There were two men killed in the Durango. The driver was identified as Juan Garcia Ahuezoteco, 23. His passenger was Alejandro Molina. It has been determined that Ahuezoteco had an outstanding felony warrant for Driving While Intoxicated. Ahuezoteco's girlfriend, who says she is pregnant with his child, says she was on the phone with the suspect as he fled from police.

"He was freaking out," the woman told Eyewitness News.
She says he was afraid of getting deported and told her he loved her before the crash. 

So these folks killed can thank President Obama for their Dream Act.

I've often said that I'm not jingoistic to believe that the US is the bast place in the world to live.

Just look at the numbers. How many people spend their whole lives trying to get here versus leaving?

So what does it tell you when people are willing to give up their citizenship to, what used to be, the best country on earth?

It may seem like a drop in the bucket, especially when droves want to immigrate to America. Still, the newly published names of individuals who renounced their U.S. citizenship or terminated long-term U.S. residency is up, with 576 for the quarter and 1,577 so far this year. The growing trend is a sad one as Record Numbers of Americans Are Renouncing Their U.S. Citizenship.

For all the immigrant arrivals, the trickle the other direction is becoming more pronounced. The tally was 2,999 for all of 2013, a 221% increase over the 932 who left in 2012. The Treasury Department is required to publish a quarterly list, a kind of public outing putting Americans on notice of who relinquished their rights. Consular expatriations, where people don’t file exit tax forms with the IRS, are apparently not counted.

Indeed, the Treasury Department’s published list states explicitly this is just those about whom the Secretary of the Treasury has data. It means these numbers are under-stated, some say considerably. Although tax law used to impact how one is taxed on departing the U.S., is no longer relevant why someone expatriates.

A 59-year-old woman is dead after her family's dog attacked her Monday afternoon in Madison Township.

The family refers to the dog as a pit bull, but its breed has not been determined by law enforcement officials, according to a news release from the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Melissa Gerhardt, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said a neighbor called 911 to report the attack in the 4700 block of Eck Road just after 1 p.m.

"She was out back and saw the victim being attacked in her backyard," she said. "We don't know what prompted the attack."

Cindy Whisman suffered multiple injuries to her face, neck and body, according to the release. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Gerhardt said.

Whisman's husband and a child were home at the time of the incident, but no one else was harmed.

Officials at some Denver homeless shelters say the legalization of marijuana has contributed to an increase in the number of younger people living on the city's streets.

One organization dealing with the increase is Urban Peak, which provides food, shelter and other services to homeless people aged 15 to 24 in Denver and Colorado Springs.

"Of the new kids we're seeing, the majority are saying they're here because of the weed," deputy director Kendall Rames told The Denver Post. "They're traveling through. It is very unfortunate."

   

The Salvation Army's single men's shelter in Denver has been serving more homeless this summer, and officials have noted an increase in the number of 18- to 25-year-olds there.

- Instead of spending government resources on real criminals, New Jersey decides to prosecute a mom for the crime of carrying a concealed weapon because New Jersey doesn't recognize Pennsylvania concealed carry permits.

- The government is twisting in the wind over the comfort of a executed criminal. Much more concern shown for him that he ever showed for his victims.

- Our truly only friend in the middle east, Israel, continues to be pushed, cajoled, encouraged, bullied into accepting stupid peace agreements that do nothing to for its long term security.

- Our veterans continue to wait for treatment while heroins addicts get emergency room treatment to save them from overdosing.

- If you ask a liberal who is waging the "war on women" more will tell you Hobby Lobby than Boko Harem.

- You have douche bags setting up make shift memorials for cop killers instead of the cop. 

The examples go on and on.

I was raised to believe that if you do three things in life you'll be successful, go to school, get a job, and don't commit crime.

It's a formula that's served the five kids in my family and ten kids in my wife's family well.

But now it just feels like we're the dupes.

With the feds easy money policy, people with money are kicking ass.

See, cheap money means company's costs of capital are lower which means more on the bottom line. Couple that with a soft economy which suppresses labor costs and my 401k statement starts kicking ass.

But the Feds easy money comes at a price.

Devalued dollars means it costs more for commodities such as gasoline, grains, meats, etc.

So while inflation is low in aggregate, the cost that middle income people have to pay for gasoline and food is killing them.

U.S. food prices are on the rise, raising a sensitive question: When the cost of a hamburger patty soars, does it count as inflation? It does to everyone who eats and especially poorer Americans, whose food costs absorb a larger portion of their income. But central bankers take a more nuanced view. They sometimes look past food-price increases that appear temporary or isolated while trying to control broad and long-term inflation trends, not blips that might soon reverse…
The consumer price of ground beef in May rose 10.4% from a year earlier while pork chop prices climbed 12.7%. The price of fresh fruit rose 7.3% and oranges 17.1%. But prices for cereals and bakery products were up just 0.1% and vegetable prices inched up only 0.5%. The U.S. Department of Agriculture predicts overall food prices will increase 2.5% to 3.5% this year after rising 1.4% in 2013, as measured by the Labor Department’s consumer-price index. In a typical supermarket, shoppers are seeing higher prices around the store’s periphery, in the produce section and at the meat counter.

For President Barack Obama, the humanitarian crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border is increasingly becoming a political liability, giving Republicans a fresh opportunity to question his administration's competence and complicating the debate over the nation's fractured immigration laws.

Still, Obama is resisting calls to visit the border during his two-day fundraising trip to Texas, where he arrives late Wednesday afternoon. Instead, Obama will hold a meeting hundreds of miles away in Dallas to discuss the crisis with faith leaders and Texas officials, including Republican Gov. Rick Perry.

Obama's trip comes one day after he asked Congress for $3.7 billion in emergency spending to get more resources to the border.

The roundtable discussion in Dallas is seen by the White House as a way to address the immigration issue while avoiding awkward optics at the border. Tens of thousands of unaccompanied children have arrived there in recent months, many fleeing violence in Central America, but also drawn by rumors that they can stay in the U.S. White House officials say most are unlikely to qualify for humanitarian relief and will be sent back to their home countries.

Why I'm skeptical about manmade global warming

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you know by now how much I like to make fun of Branch Gorevidians.

In reality, I'm actually fairly agnostic about man made global warming.

See I get when you start your car in the garage and don't open the garage door you will ultimately die of carbon monoxide poisoning. So obviously, spewing this stuff into the atmosphere can be a good idea.

None the less, a couple of weeks ago, I was driving back from Columbus to my palatial estate. by the end of my drive, I must have had hundreds of bugs splattered on my windshield. And it dawned on me.

How many trillions of bugs do we humans  kill on a daily basis? Think of all the insects we kill through our cars, our lawnmowers, walking, etc.

How much of a dent have we made in the insect population?

I've yet to hear one person say that our ecosystem is in jeopardy as a result of the loss of insects.

In fact, every morning on my drive to work, I see at least one newly dead opossum, raccoon, squirrel, goose, etc in the road way. Despite the genocide of these various forms of wildlife I have yet to hear that opossum are an endangered species.

So while I'm agnostic as to man's impact on the environment, I'm also smart enough to realize that the world's a pretty damn big place. And if we cannot even make a dent into the world wide mosquito population, what makes someone think we have that much of an impact on global temperatures.

There's an irony to the Hobby Lobby decision coming out this week.

Just this past weekend, I was drinking some beers with Midas and I asked him to pay for a vasectomy I was scheduled for.

His first response was STFU.

But I told him that if he didn't pay for it, he was denying me my reproductive rights.

Then he responded with his GTFOOH slam.

Honestly, that conversation never happened because it would never dawn on me to ask someone to pay for my own health issues.

But I wonder if I met up with Sandra Fluke and asked her to pay for my vasectomy, would she cut me a check?

Obviously, Sandra has a lot more money than I do. I don't have the ability to drop a 100k into a congressional run. So it seems only fair that she pay for my vasectomy, a little Levitra, and maybe even some hookers to I can fully express my reproductive freedom.

Someone please tell me how I am the one who has this screwed up.

Meet Nicole Hill.

Why is she in the news?

It has been six weeks since the city turned off Nicole Hill's water.

Dirty dishes are piled in the sink of her crowded kitchen, where the yellow-and-green linoleum floor is soiled and sticky. A small garbage can is filled with water from a neighbor, while a bigger one sits outside in the yard, where she hopes it will collect some rain. She's developed an intricate recycling system of washing the dishes, cleaning the floor and flushing the toilet with the same water.

"It's frightening, because you think this is something that only happens somewhere like Africa," said Hill, a single mother who is studying homeland security at a local college. "But now I know what they're going through — when I get somewhere there's a water faucet, I drink until my stomach hurts."

So Nicole here has no money for her water bill but she appears to have plenty of money for tattoos, her nails and hair coloring.

Given her seemingly poor choices in life, do you think Nicole pulled the chain for Romney or Obama?

Water department spokeswoman Curtrise Garner says it’s a possibility — but for now, the water bills must be paid.

“We do have programs that do help those that are just totally in need; can’t afford it — but we also know that there are also people who can’t afford it would can not pay and we know this because, once we shut water off, the next day they are in paying the bill in full. So we do know that that has become a habit as well,” said Garner.

“At the DWAS Department — it’s not our goal to shut off water. We want people’s water on, just like they do; but you do have to pay for your water…That’s the bottom line.”

A California businessman who has donated over $1 million to Democrats, including President Obama, has been indicted in federal court for a laundry list of infractions.

Two sealed indictments were handed down against Kareem Ahmed, the CEO of Landmark Medical Management, and 15 associates, TPM reports.

Ahmed is accused of running a kickback scheme involving a topical cream his company developed. One indictment alleges that Ahmed would pay doctors who handled workers’ compensation cases to prescribe the cream. The scam ran from 2009 to 2013 and involved the filing of false insurance claims, according to TPM, which obtained the documents.

According to Southern California Public Radio, Ahmed paid doctors a total of $25 million to dispense the “transdermal cream.”

The involuntary manslaughter allegation involves Ahmed and two others — a pharmacist and a doctor. The three “did unlawfully and without malice kill Andrew G. (a minor), a human being, in the commission of a lawful act which might produce death, in an unlawful manner and without due caution and circumspection,” the indictment reads, without providing much other detail.

So the city of Seattle is going through with it's minimum wage increase to $15.00 an hour.

But not so fast Batman.

The city managed to to exempt non franchise businesses from the immediate increase.

Why?

If the purpose of this law was to help working class people be able to support themselves are you not saying that their services for a non franchise business is less valuable than a franchise business?

Of course, the people who enacted this law showed their understanding of business acumen with some of these quotes...........

At a recent hearing, City Councilmember Kshama Sawant said franchise owners can afford to pay workers more. “In order to be a franchisee, you need to be very, very wealthy," she said.

Really? For every wealthy McDonald's owner there's a Subway, Kinko', Penn Station, Shell oil franchisee who used their life savings to purchase their franchise.

In addition, most franchisees are required to pay the franchisor fees in the range of 7% of their sales. On top of that, most franchises have to pay 1-2% of their sales go to pay for an Ad-coop. So when you buy that $5.00 footlong nearly 50 cents are paid out before another vendor gets a dime.

But that's OK, because the mayor shows his abject ignorance as well.

“They are part of a larger, national corporate monopoly that is very, very different than individual business owners,” Murray said.

In addition to the franchise clause, companies with fewer than 500 employees are exampt for seven years versus three for larger firms.

So how is it that if you are the 499th employee at a company, Seattle has determined that your value is less than the 501st employee of a different company?

Seattle has set the bar in defying the cost/benefit principle that's been around since this first econ 101 class began.

Let me ring the clue phone to you dumbasses. Businesses owners aren't clueless. They don't pay for more government than they need. So every time you pass a tax increase, income, property, or increased regulation, you simply provide fuel for business owners to get the hell out of Dodge.

.... It was his working mother's generosity to her adult son, including paying his rent and the gift of a used BMW 328i, that allowed Rodger to live in the college community of Isla Vista. He bought his three handguns with money saved from gifts from grandparents and the $500 a month his father sent him, according to Rodger's writing......

Then you have this Occupy Wall Street punk who is on trial for assaulting a cop............

The jailed Occupy Wall Street protester who defiantly basked in the spotlight while on trial for elbowing a cop threw a tantrum as she was dragged into court on separate case Wednesday.

Cecily McMillan, 25, loudly wailed as she was led into the courtroom in handcuffs with her hair tied up messily and her gray T-shirt untucked. The sobbing continued throughout the first part of the brief Manhattan Criminal Court hearing at which prosecutors offered her community service and possible anger management and counseling in exchange for a guilty plea.

“She’s not happy — like every other inmate at Rikers Island,” said her attorney, Martin Stolar, after the hearing.

Stolar said crying had to do with the Department of Correction not giving her the right court day outfit, and because court staff would not take her handcuffs off in accordance with normal procedure for inmates.

Really? Big, bad ass, protestor can't do without her correct outfit?

And then we have Sandra Fluke who seems to believe that a middle class Catholic family in Kansas City should pay for her birth control while she loans her political campaign $100,000.........

Sandra Fluke, the free-birth-control and women's rights advocate, has complained over the course of her campaign for California State Senate that women do not have equal access to campaign funds as men do. Yet Fluke loaned herself $100,000 in campaign funds for the race in the 26th district, according to a new report by Bloomberg News.

Fluke has led fundraising in the race over the past two months. Her female Democratic rival, Manhattan Beach Mayor Amy Howorth, has the most cash-on-hand, trumping the top male candidate in the race, Ben Allen. (Allen is also the beneficiary of large independent expenditures by businessman Bill Bloomfield.)

Two of Fluke's campaign mailers mention her famous 2012 tussle with radio host Rush Limbaugh. One says: "Sandra Fluke Fought Rush Limbaugh and Won. Imagine What She Will DO in Sacramento," Bloomberg notes. A copy of the mailer can be found on Fluke's Facebook page by clicking here.

Bloomberg News also notes that Fluke and her husband own a home in West Hollywood--where the median home value is $645,000--which they bought before she went to law school at Georgetown.

In all these cases, we have almost a pathological belief among these people that they deserve everything because they simply exist. In the first two cases we can see the results when these people are finally confronted with adversity. And it's pretty ugly.

The State Department’s Counter Terrorism (CT) Bureau apologized on Tuesday for promoting a controversial Muslim scholar whose organization has reportedly backed Hamas and endorsed a fatwa authorizing the murder of U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

The apology came on the heels of a Friday Washington Free Beacon report detailing the CT Bureau’s promotion of Sheik Abdallah Bin Bayyah, the vice president of a radical Muslim scholars group that was founded by a radical Muslim Brotherhood leader who has called “for the death of Jews and Americans.”

Bin Bayyah himself is one of several clerics who endorsed a 2004 fatwa, or religious order, endorsing the killing of U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq.

The CIA’s top officer in Kabul was exposed Saturday by the White House when his name was inadvertently included on a list provided to news organizations of senior U.S. officials participating in President Obama’s surprise visit with U.S. troops.

The White House recognized the mistake and quickly issued a revised list that did not include the individual, who had been identified on the initial release as the “Chief of Station” in Kabul, a designation used by the CIA for its highest-ranking spy in a country.

The disclosure marked a rare instance in which a CIA officer working overseas had his cover — the secrecy meant to protect his actual identity — pierced by his own government. The only other recent case came under significantly different circumstances, when former CIA operative Valerie Plame was exposed as officials of the George W. Bush administration sought to discredit her husband, a former ambassador and fierce critic of the decision to invade Iraq.

According to a new study, pedophiles’ brains are “abnormally tuned” to find young children attractive.

Lead Researcher Jorge Ponseti from the University of Kiel in Germany says now it may be possible to diagnose pedophiles before they are able to offend.

The researchers found that pedophiles have the same neurological reaction to images of those they find attractive as those of people with ordinary sexual predilections. A pedophile’s relevant cerebral areas become engaged when they see children. When an adult finds someone attractive, their occipital areas become engaged, but this is inverted for pedophiles.

The researchers believe this is proof that there is a neural pattern behind a pedophile’s behavior.

The more I read about this asshole in Santa Barbara the more I want to beat the hell out of his parents.

Why?

To start with, their ability after the fact to blame the NRA for his ability to purchase guns.

Really?

Let's start with the fact that in all these stories, not one mentions his relationships with his coworkers.

What's the significance of that you might ask?

Because to have co workers you would need to have a fucking job. Has anyone asked how this shit head was able to buy 3 - 9mm pistols? Where did he get the money?  In Ohio, these guns would cost at least $400 a piece. I'm thinking that in California the cost would exceed $1500. Did either of his parents look at a credit card bill and say "shit Junior what did you buy at Bob's Gun Shop for $1500?".

The cops found 41 magazines in his possession. I just bought 2 magazines for my Ruger .380 LCP and they cost about $38 a piece. 40-10 round clips I would think would be $40; $1600 all together.

The ammo probably cost an extra $200.00

So this kid had the ability to purchase $3200.00 of guns and ammo with what? His charming good looks and rants about sorority girls?

Let's not forget the BMW and Armani sunglasses he was tooling around in to deliver his death sentences.

This kid was a hot mess and you let him have carte blanche purchasing power?

Fortunately, gun advocates have been able to switch the debate from one of guns to one of mental health. But this kid, like many of the others, had a lot of access to mental health services. I'd be willing to bet nearly all of them have been on psychotropic drugs. All of them had access to guns, not because there was a market to buy them but because, the people closest to these douche bags paid for them.

This punk needed less mental health treatment and more ass beatings in his life. Less gun control and more emotional impulse training. More parental involvement and less free time to pursue jerk off activities like hours playing videos games.

Let's face it. Had this punk actually had to get a job and work for those guns he might have slipped into a more productive use for his time and money.

The bottom line is this putrid piece of shit was delivered to the public from his parent in a kick ass BMW. If they made him get a job, he at least would have use some of that money for gas instead of another magazine.

And Senate Democrats have been slow to embrace House-passed legislation that would give Shinseki the authority to fire senior executives.

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) questioned whether legislation could address the VA’s problems, noting “most of it has to be done administratively.”

Senate leaders also expressed support for the Cabinet member on Thursday.

“I think he’s doing a thorough review, as he should, of VA medical centers on the scheduling issue,” said Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.).

Richard Griffin, the VA’s acting inspector general, plans to release his own report on allegations that VA facilities concealed the wait times for veterans seeking medical treatment. Critics say that dozens of veterans may have died while waiting for treatment.

I mean let's face it. Veterans are more prone to vote republican. Inept and/or corrupt employees vote for democrats. Killing two birds with one stone.

Life in "Progress" Country - France edition

France’s state-owned rail network RFF just ordered 2,000 brand new trains as part of an effort to modernize the country’s transit network. There’s just one problem: the new trains are too wide for most of the country’s train platforms.

How did this happen? EU rules required France to split ownership of its railways and the trains that use them. Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) owns and operates the country’s rail infrastructure, while Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français (SNCF) operates the actual trains.

Unfortunately, the two separate state-owned firms don’t seem to know how to talk to one another. SNCF was in charge of ordering the new trains, but it relied on RFF for specs of the stations the trains would be servicing. RFF supplied dimensions for new stations, though most of France’s stations are older and, therefore, a different size. The upshot of all of this: those new trains won’t fit in more than half of the country’s stations, so France is now working to widen old platforms to accommodate the ordering error—repairs which have already cost more than $100 million.

When they pull up to a gas station these days, Detroit drivers are looking beyond the price per gallon at a far more threatening concern: carjackers.

The armed auto thieves have become so common here that parts of the bankrupt metropolis are referred to as "Carjack City," and many motorists fear getting out of their vehicles even for a few moments to fill a tank.

Why don't McDonald's employees unionize?

Yesterday, a pack of thugs rushed some McDonald's stores in protest of minimum wage.

I've got a question for these thugs. If working conditions are so horrible there, why doesn't the SEIU set up a union in these shops?

I'll tell you why. They can't.

See, for the SEIU to unionize a McDonald's store they would have to have a number of employees with the longevity to organize the workers and they don't.

Why?

Because freakin' McDonalds is not a destination job. The average tenure of a McDonald's employee is probably less than six months.

Most come in, do their work, earn some skills, get paid, and move on to a more lucrative job. That's the way it works.

I worked at McDonald's as a kid. I started at 5 cents above minimum wage. After a month, I got a raise of 10 cents an hour. Within six weeks, I was promoted to crew leader and made another 10 cents an hour.

It was rough boy, All I did was show up to work on time, clean and ready to go.

Had I chosen to stay I probably would have made more money over time. Instead, I took a more lucrative job at a CPA firm making considerably more than what I could have ever made at McDonald's.

That's the way it works and anyone who doesn't get that really doesn't deserve more than minimum wage because they can't get the concept that they have to provide a service above and beyond their pay to their employer.

At what point do we, as a public, finally come to terms that democrats couldn't give a rip about
working people.

Take energy policy. Here's a piece from the AP on the future hikes in electricity rates.

Electricity prices are probably on their way up across much of the US as coal-fired plants, the dominant source of cheap power, shut down in response to environmental regulations and economic forces.

New and tighter pollution rules and tough competition from cleaner sources such as natural gas, wind and solar will lead to the closings of dozens of coal-burning plants across 20 states over the next three years. And many of those that stay open will need expensive retrofits.

Because of these and other factors, the Energy Department predicts retail power prices will rise 4 percent on average this year, the biggest increase since 2008. By 2020, prices are expected to climb an additional 13 percent, a forecast that does not include the costs of coming environmental rules.

Now ask yourself the question. Who gets hit hardest by these energy rate hikes?

1) George Soros
2) A mechnical engineer
3) a fixed income retiree

4) Lebron James.
5) An auto worker

But heating and cooling costs are just part of the economic hurt being inflicted upon our working folks. There's a residual impact of higher production costs for manufacturers.

As Indiana has reduced its reliance on coal to 84 percent from 97 percent over the last decade, its power prices rose far faster than those of its neighbors and the rest of the country.

That makes things tough on customers, especially big power users like Rochester Metal Products Corp., in Rochester, Indiana. The hulking furnaces it uses to melt scrap iron consume enough electricity to power 7,000 households.

“As Indiana’s price of electricity becomes less and less competitive, so do we,” says Doug Smith, the company’s maintenance and engineering manager.

That same principle applies not just between states but between countries. If our production costs go up, that simply means that production get shifted to countries who provide cheaper labor and cheaper energy costs.

Now ask yourself who that hurts more.

So welcome the next time you drive through Gary, Indiana and see all those mothballed steel plants along the lakefront that used to provide nice jobs to working folks, you can thank the Obamunists.

O better be careful

King Obama better be careful these next couple of months because he's about to be the one tossed under the bus for a change.

Why?

Consider this. He offers democrats nothing but a few campaign bucks for this coming election. Yet, there are no amount of campaign dollars that can compensate for the albatross he's hung on the democrats with his Obamacare and now the VA scandals.

If the democrats lose the Senate, who's going to take the heat? Hilary Clinton? Since the One has no ability to run for reelection, those who will be running for president are going to come out distancing themselves from this clown.

The media will also be complicit in featuring the contrasting styles with the new democratic nominees with the competence of the One.

Once the latest, EPA and Obamacare regs come out killing more jobs, there will be hell to pay.

Given how his administration has treated democratic members of congress and members of the media, he won't have a scintilla of political capital to use in his defense.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

The Swiss shot down a minimum wage increase...........

Unions argued that the measure was necessary because of the high living costs in big Swiss cities such as Geneva and Zurich.

The unions are angry that Switzerland - one of the richest countries in the world - does not have a minimum pay level while neighbouring France and Germany do.

They argue that surviving on less than 4,000 francs a month is not possible because rents, health insurance and food are all prohibitively expensive.

The minimum wage in Germany will be 8.5 euros an hour from 2017. 

I've got some questions about this passage.........

The Swiss have no minimum wage yet the standard of living is higher than France and Germany who do? Is that a coincidence?

The unions say that it's impossible to live on 4000 francs a month and yet I haven't seen a one article about abject poverty and homelessness in Switzerland. In fact, from my understanding, Geneva and Zurich are considered beautiful, clean cities without a tremendous amount of crime. So wouldn't the parks in these cities be filled with loads of homeless bums if this statement were accurate?

Maybe Germany and France should be following the Swiss's lead and not vice versa.

Last year, Mrs. Gekko and I went to a Southside Johnny concert. Between bad acoustics and Southside's age, neither Mrs. Gekko or I could understand what the hell the guy was saying between songs.

Why is Dani in the news?

A drop-out from Quinnipiac University called in bomb threats to the school to try to cancel a graduation ceremony her family expected her to participate in.

According to NBC Connecticut, Danielle Shea, 22, dropped out of school but still collected tuition money from her family. They were at the school to see Shea, who had even bought her cap and gown, graduate.

Shea’s family didn’t see her name on the list of graduates, and she panicked, according to a police news release.

That’s when she called in the first bomb threat to Quinnipiac University Public Safety, saying there was a “bomb in the library,” according to police.

I bet ole Danny here has lots of opinions on politics. So who did she vote for in the last presidential election?

"Redvilles" v "Progress" Cities

Since the inception of this blog, I have preached the word about the quality of life in our "Red" (conservative) areas v the quality of life in our "Blue" (progressive) areas.

Below is a map of the 2012 election results by county.

As you know, Obama won handily against Romney. Yet, when you look electoral map by county, you can see that most of the country is red except for our large urban areas.

I've been at this blog for 8 years now. And in all this time, not one liberal has been able to refute this assertion on my part. In every single quality of life measure (unemployment, crime, schools, cost of government, etc.), the red areas are better. Really, it's not even close.

There's one quality of life measure that I have failed to consider, income inequality.

Guess what, the red areas reign supreme on that one as well........................

There’s just one problem: the districts where Democrats have the best shot to win Republican-held seats show some of the smallest gaps between rich and poor in the U.S., an indication of just how hard it will be for their message to take hold with voters.

Of the 100 congressional districts ranked as having the greatest gap between rich and poor, not one is held by a Republican whose seat is considered up for grabs this November, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Again, how does a liberal with any conscience see the evidence right in front of them and believe that liberal policies work?

I guess it's the same blind faith that has them believe in the global warming/climate change/chaos.

Maybe if these "progressives" understood this concept, they would understand why conservatives are fighting so hard to keep their safe, clean and productive enclaves from turning into Detroit.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a response to the liberals demands for an increased minimum wage.

So, for a people who like to portray themselves as Mensa members when they compare themselves to conservatives, they seem to lack an understanding of the law of supple and demand.

So let's do a refresher for all these "progressive" liberal arts majors.

See when the price of something goes up, demand for the product goes down. So when artificially increase the price of labor, employers will seek alternatives to the price increase.

Frankly, I'm ashamed that the media and democrats have just let Craig Stevens become diplomatic chum for the Obama administration. He was one of their own and they have left his death become the price politics........ like a ream of copy paper.

This has happened only six times in US history. To date, no one has been brought to justice outside of some ding dong in LA who produced a video that had nothing to do with the planned attack on our consulate.

No one has asked the president "When one of your employees was being attacked, where were you, what information was being relayed on the attack, why didn't you even attempt a rescue if for no more reason than to secure the area?"

It's disgusting that only one reporter (Sharyl Attkison) outside of Fox News has even given the time of day to this story.

This story is an indictment of the entire media complex. Do you think they'll attempt to make amends by hitting these guys hard?

minimum wage idiocy

Over the weekend, the Gekko's hit downtown Cincinnati to celebrate my birthday.

Now if you're not familiar with the politics of Cincinnati, PG Sittenfeld, a councilman, is working to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 for businesses within the city.

I thought about that as we walked to the city owned Fountain Square garage and used the automated payment system to pay for our parking.

Do idiots like PG ever wonder what happened to those people who used to get paid to take your money when exiting the garage? I guess they just magically disappeared.

Not exactly. I'm just going to guess that it is a hell of lot cheaper to put a machine in to do the work that you're paying a low skilled worker to do the job. Of course, raising the price on those workers only makes it more likely their jobs will be filled by a machine at some point in time.

When I was a small kid, one of the local grocery stores actually had tags on the grocery carts. When your cart was filled with the groceries, the bagger would hand you the tag. He would take the cart outside and when you pulled up to the curb, he would load the groceries into your car.

What do you think happened to those jobs?

They went the way of pterodactyls and gas station attendants who actually pumped your gas and checked your oil.

It the same economic forces that cause you to not only bag your own groceries but you now get to scan them as well.

So go for it PG and the senate. It's much better to have zero 10.10 jobs than people actually working and getting on to the economic ladder so they can climb their way up.

So let me make sure I have this right.

Those big, fat, awful corporations love profits so much, they're willing to pay workers less than a living wage so they can stuff their big, fat wallets with cash.

If you believe that, then why would there be any job market for men at all if those same big, fat, awful corporations can pay a woman 77% of what they would pay a man to do the same job?

Talk about adding to the bottom line.

I've watched that show already

Years ago, while dating my fabulously liberal girlfriend, she turned on one of the Sunday morning news shows and was surprised that I wasn't interested in watching.

"As political as you are, I'm surprised you don't watch all of these."

I replied, "I've already seen them all."

"Uuh?"

"Yeah, this is the show where the moderator has a liberal and a milquetoast conservative answer questions about an issue, and the liberal gives the standard liberal talking point and the milquetoast conservative does the same."

If you never want to learn anything new, keep watching these shows and you'll end up dumber for having done so.
